If Denver/NMSU and Omaha/UND get added, that will effectively put hockey under a Horizon banner.

Milwaukee, Wright State and Green Bay are schools that are a little short on the funds to provide Hockey.

Why would Denver even be in the discussion? As a travel partner for NMSU, whose President said the Horizon was interested?

Colorado @ Colorado Springs
Fort Lewis (Durango)
Metro State (Denver)
Regis (Denver)

University of Illinois @ Springfield

RE: The Next Realignment Effect on the Horizon League
In the world of one bid leagues it really makes no sense for the Horizon to have more than 10 members.

Sure taking WIU and the Indiana twins would be an errand of mercy but it accomplishes nothing for the Horizon.

Some of those D2 schools have less than 1000 students--they will not be making the jump to D1.

Did not stopped some schools with less than 1000 students that made the jump. I think Presbyterian made the jump with less than 1000. They are the smallest in D1 right now.

The Omaha article may have been a threat by Omaha and Denver that they would leave the Slummit if UND goes to the B1G for hockey. We need a healthy Slummit now.

RE: The Next Realignment Effect on the Horizon League
This could could possibly be a good thing for the WAC and even the Big Sky.
N. Colorado could replace Omaha thus giving the Big Sky 10 teams.

The WAC stays safe because there is no reason for NMSU to move with them looking for a FBS conference, in addition with GCU being eligible the WAC is becoming a pretty decent conference.

Wisconsin-Parkside is D2 as well.

I am seeing D2 schools in the midwest and the plains could be actually be looked at to make the move.

Dear lord just stop.......... I'll put $20 down you have never been to any of these schools in Michigan and have no idea what they actually are.

Then you throw out Ashland and Ohio Dominican...... the level of stupid just keeps rising.

Inviting California Baptist to the WAC is just stupid rising as well. Realignment throws out surprises like who would have thought Incarnate word would get invited to the Southland Conference. We have to keep things in mind that we need to have a open mind to what else could surprise us. All you and some others are doing are saying stupid things with resistance of a possibility of which schools could be invited.
