Overseas Trip

No worse than the Dominican Republic which was the destination four years ago.

It's better than not going. The players will have fun. And Coach Shaver is able to keep his word to the players, recruits, and their families.

Maybe they will shoot for Europe next time.

Another article about Gonzaga's growth as a national brand. This one by Darrin Rovell, of ESPN.

I mentally have put aside caring about the destination, as opposed to the large value in the extra practice time, hopefully allowing next year's team to find their chemistry and leadership early, and getting new recruits a jumpstart. This will be a very new chapter in Tribe basketball next fall.

May be a fantasy, but I, also, still hold out hope that Jack does not find a new home that fits, and is welcomed back to finish at his original home.

Perhaps they'll play a pickup game with the Jamaican Bobsled team.

Can't think of a college kid that wouldn't be happy going to Jamaica. May not be the best basketball destination, but will certainly be a trip the team enjoys and accomplishes the goal of getting additional practices/bonding. Kudos to coach Shaver for planning a more budget friendly trip that will help the team.

My wife and I have been to resorts in Ocho Rios, Negril, and Montego Bay. We had nice experiences all three times but after the third time we decided that we might have visited Jamaica for the last time. Funny thing is, last weekend we talked about going back again. I do not have a clue what they are looking at in the way of resorts but I would certainly recommend Sandals.

I'm not sure any team in California or Colorado would ever be allowed to play at that rate.
