This is desperation scheduling, just like the article mentions, just ask the staff. I'm not criticizing NIU football specifically, I root for all MAC teams at the end of the day. We're all fighting an uphill battle against $$ issues. Just sad NIU can't run it's program the way they'd actually like to, because of State budget problems.

But you have fun with the grey turf, we love it. EMU Regents about to vote on a major football facilities upgrade plan. Hopefully everything will be to your liking....we'll keep you posted.

Weird post.

Smack talking? Even your own board dislikes you based on your reputation. Pretty much says it all.

Good luck with the scheduling.

Correct. You weren't smack talking. Just telling the truth. Some people can't handle that.

Weird post.

I can tell you the players i know and talk to regularly are very very excited to play the next few of non conf scheduled games they are confident and excited to plat the best in the country. They all point to the OSU game and say hay we can play with anybody if we play mistake free inspired football.

I look at the next few years 17 18 19 and see

nebraska twice
iowa
BC
utah twice
byu
sdsu
vandy
fsu
eastern

And i see one of the hardest non conf schedules NIU has ever had and I see a 4 and 7 record with a couple very close losses and a blowout loss or two. If you are not excited about this I don't get it. This will give our guys a chance to show the country what they are capable of. Win or lose they will be in some pretty cool places playing against top level schools and isn't that what they all have wanted from the time they fell in love with this game. Give them support and rally around them as they take on this huge challenge !!! Go Huskies !!

I know my son and his teammates are ready for the challange. When he committed he was looking forward to these types of games and is more excited about Huskie football than ever !!!

I'd rather see this schedule than a list of FCS and Sunbelt teams. NIU normally plays up to the competition. Will we win most of these games? No. Probably will get blown out in some of them too. Unfortunately we're in the position of needing the money.

Hopefully we'll come away with an upset or two. None of the competetion expects much from us, but ask Alabama, Maryland, Iowa, et. al, what happens when you underestimate an opponent.

I've even read about the risk of injuries to our players. Really? No injuries in the Orange Bowl or against Ohio State, against both of whom we were at least competitive.

Not a big FSU fan, but they did do us a favor by scheduling this game, and I liked the fact that Jimbo throttled it back in the 4th quarter in the Orange Bowl.

Our guys were gassed and FSU could have scored again had they kept the pedal to the floor.

RE: Florida State Game in 2018 Confirmed
For years many complained about scheduling. Not enough P5 home, or overall.

Now we have them, now the schedule is too tough.

Complain about shortfall in revenue, then complain when someone offers you $1.6 MILLION to show up! That's like what, 13,000 season tickets bought for next year instead of 13,000 (if you are lucky, far less paying) for a game vs a D2 school? I know, some are sorry the Blue Hose won't be coming back.

I haven't been a fan of the powers that be recently. But please, some of you pick a side and your battles. 03-banghead
