That's going to be the hardest non- conference schedule we've ever had...

Sounds like 2003 when we had ranked Maryland, ranked Alabama, and Iowa State. Which we won.

My daughter may be going there at the time. Should be an interesting road trip. Man, do I hate that obnoxious chant with the stupid tomahawk gesture.

I was doing that after our touchdown in the Orange Bowl to mock some Seminoles fans nearby. Needless to say, I hightailed it out of there when things fell apart in the fourth quarter.

USC is the same way. I think they have 2 songs. My buddy & I had to drink every time they played the song. We were hammered after the 1st quarter. It was every 30 seconds. :)

Hello All, although I lurk from time to time, as this board was very hospitable before the OB in 2013, but excited to see the announcement for the game in 2018. I will definitely be making the trip for that one.

I think the reaction is just a general lack of knowledge about the NIU program from FSU fans, and both of our programs have moved in different directions since that game. Remember watching the game, and after the post-game conference, thinking Carey was not possibly the best option at the time as NIU was a hot program...and still can be.

Looking forward to all the posts before the game. :)

Well, hopefully we will have Hall starting at QB that game, but either way, take it easy on us, okay?

I didn't read the FSU board but if FSU fans are confident of an easy win I see no reason to think why it won't be. Hopefully this $1.6 million payout from FSU will be used to fix the mistake with making Carey our coach.

Can't imagine being competitive at all in the current state. Lots of thing can change in a year but assuming we'll get worked. But I'll drink a lot and thoroughly enjoy the day and atmosphere so win-win in my mind.

I think it will be competitive to be honest, NIU will probably have a new coach and they will have some very hungry players. FSU can have mental lapses when the game is not against a rival or big name school. We also could be starting a brand new QB that year, with very limited game experience.

Now, if the QB stays for his Junior year, FSU will be very good in 2018 as they will have some real studs on the offensive side of the ball.

Along with the drinking, will be plenty of sight seeing, and most NIU fans will notice exactly what I mean by that. :)
