I won't be content with Tiger basketball again until we make the 2nd weekend of an NCAA tournament.
Agree 100%. That's the benchmark for success at Memphis, and it's what most fans expect.
No one ever said that Josh isn't good at surpassing low expectations. He did it here the first few years of his tenure and did it at GT. The thing GT fans will learn the next few years is that he cannot live up to loftier expectations. They're probably thinking this was a great start and that next year he'll build on that momentum and in the next couple years they'll make a S16. Ain't happening. In fact, with an ACC schedule, I'll be surprised if he even makes the NCAA Tournament more than once or twice before they fire him.
The best GT ever had (Bobby Cremins) was average at best. They named the floor after him. Pastner at GT will be fine. Good fit.
Bob Cremins went to four S16s at GT and one Final Four. Call me when Josh gets one S16. Just one.

Today. No. Maybe in a week, if they are really lucky.
He's getting out recruited by Georgia State.

Is his recruiting class ranked higher than ours
Excerpt from conversation with 5-star recruit MJ Walker:
You’ve been to Georgia Tech unofficially a coupe of times, how is their recruitment of you going?
Coach has just invited me to some of the games that they’ve had. I actually really like their system. Like I said, I feel like I fit well in their system as well because they just need that guard that can score efficiently. I think I could do well in their system as well.
Does their success help them as well?
I think it does, especially if I were to come in there, even though they got Josh Okogie, I just feel like with that team and that chemistry, you know they got a lot of good things going on down there and for me to come in that would be good for that program.

RE: TCU wins NIT Championship with 88-56 Blowout of Josh's Georgia Tech
Good lawd folks Opie sucked this year at GT. Think about this, even with 3 big wins against ranked teams, 2 of which ended up sucking, he finished under .500 in conference. The last 30 days of the season, he finished like 3-7 or something against the bottom half of the league. He then made the NIT AND beat 4 teams, all of which sucked so bad that hey didn't make the tourney, and he capped it alll off by getting thumped by 30 points by the 69th best team in the country. Give it time, he gonna tear down anything that has ever been good about GT. Book it. They will rue the day they hired him.

Just pointing out what seems to be a trend. I guess that is his MO. Dude is all about some small guards. I'm not sure how that will work in the ACC, but I guess we'll see.

Probably didn't hurt that he had a 44'' vertical, but you still don't see many 5'3'' guys running around in the NBA. I'll go with the odds.
