Glad to have a guy with some experience. Current count is that Rice has 4 open scholarships (Drone, Evans, Jackson, and Marquez Letcher-Ellis). Be helpful longterm if Coach Pera can get a couple transfers and a couple freshman to help spread out the scholarships amongst different classes.

That would be my idea as well. Though we need to be a slightly better than .500 team or better in order to keep us attractive to potential recruits.

RE: Dylan Jones - incoming transfer to men's ?
Mark Berkman tweeted that Dylan Jones may have 2 years of eligibiltiy remaining if he cats an injury waiver for last season (kind of like what Dylan Ennis has with Oregon to play this year). Maybe everyone knows this, but in case it was overlooked, Dylan Jones and Coach Pera were at Penn at the same time.

Supposedly Duke has been begging Rice to take him back - even to the point where they offered to throw in $10 Million and a 2nd round draft pick.

I think however Obi's agent is working on a deal to be the Texans' QB. I hear the contract will be slightly less than Brock's.

Kelvin is toxic because of his previous NCAA Show Cause. He also hasn't been good enough to warrant poaching.

Missouri City kid, although he played high school in town. At the very least, he'll be comparable to the Columbia graduate transfer we had a couple of years ago (Van Green). And at this pace, we probably will need several more of those types.

Van Green's contributions were minimal to none....on a totally depleted roster.

We're taking some hits with the transfers, but I have a feeling that tells me we will be okay.

Agree. I'm not ready to say we are shuffling the chairs on the Titanic. Pera has a good pedigree 2 state HS titles one in PA and one in AZ, P5 asst, Ivy asst, and probably always had potential coaches in mind should Rhoades leave and he get the job. Hopefully we will have more emphasis on the offensive side of the court (I would take VSU's offensive game plan) while still keeping most of the defensive ideas we had with Rhoades.

I still have confidence in JK and thus, in Pera. The exodus is not totally unexpected.

We went three steps forward, Now we are taking two steps back, (still +1) but I think that three years from now, when pera is hired away, we will be ahead of where we were two weeks ago.

Does that imply you believe that next year we will be better than we were in Rhoades's first year?

That is not impossible if you believe Cashaw, Lott, and Meyer is stronger nucleus than Rhoades had.

If everyone else stays, we're significantly better still. That's assuming that Meyer and Harrison improve a lot. But we're not going to be nearly the offensive juggernaut we were this season.
