I'm hoping they have Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Denny's and Waffle House like all destinations cities, Greensboro being our best example.
I'm told Syracuse has exotic foods like hot chicken wings, pizza, and barbecue. Stuff you just can't get in Greensboro... or so I'm told.
Hot chicken wings = fried chicken with Texas Pete splashed on em. Not exactly something requiring Vivian Howard to create.️
Texas Pete is made in Winston-Salem, NC (25 miles from Greensboro).

Texas Pete is barf lava that's not fit for consumption by living beings of any species.

The pizza and wings are markedly better. The BBQ is markedly worse. The Dino is bad to average, despite insane amounts of hype.
But the exotic foods would probably consist more of things like chicken speidies and salt potatos.
Disagree...Dinosaur is really good at what they do. It is a tourist spot now...but they deliver.
Italian Food, Irish Pubs deliver in Cuse.
Italian Sausage and Coneys blows away anything found in NC. Brightleaf are horrible red dyed cancer sticks.
I do love all the varieties of Carolina Q...
Haddock>>>>>Catfish
The best BBQ that I've ever had was in Carlisle, PA. But there is a lot of great BBQ down south.
The Dino tastes painfully average and often leads to food poisoning (don't get any chicken there). That combo is bad to average to me.
And haddock and catfish are different IMHO. Cajun catfish and value ice beer = great. Haddock and domestic premium and fries = great. It all depends on your mood.

Be humane and put Franks on your chicken.
More blasphemy. Texas Pete is the best. Also for the record, Scott's is the best barbecue sauce.

I haven't had Scott's.
But TX Pete is what I would use to kill weeds if consumption of the product wasn't cruel and unusual.

Probably stuck in the hotel...nearly 2 feet of snow fell.
No Waffle House! Okay don't ever promote Upstate NY for its food choices again. At least if alcohol is included in the equation. Waffle House is the late night drinking man's best friend.
Our drunks can go to IHOP in CNY.
BTW, dawg...we'll meet and you bring your Brightleaf and I'll bring my Hofmann's. We'll have a friendly cook off.

The ambiance just isn't the same as Waffle House. There is something about walking in at 2am not knowing if you are coming back out all in one piece or at least whether your exit will include questioning by the authorities that makes it special!

In all honesty I've never used any hot sauce other than TPs. I don't think I've seen anything else on the shelf or at a restaurant table around here my entire life. I'll see if I can find a bottle of Franks and try it sometime! I'll probably have to drive an hour to Raleigh or Cary to one of those yuppie (is that what they call em now?) high dollar stores.
Scott's is the best, made by a family that use to operate a very highly thought of Eastern NC barbecue restaurant and now concentrates on the sauce distribution. I don't know how far ranging their distribution extends.

I'll put a cookout at Syracuse on my bucket list!
There's a lot of truth to this post. I'm a huge fan of the triple hash browns w/ gravy, cheese, ham, onions, and tomatoes (which is a good amount of food and costs under $5, btw). But aside from that order, Denny's/IHOP/Eat n' Park have better food. Still, WH is my favorite. The ambiance really is unmatched, and the people that you meet there are make for superb stories.

Actually the Carolina Area is a wonderful area for BBQ...4 different styles spread out over 2 states
I highly recommend trying them all and finding out what you like best
Hopefully Kaplony...pipes in. He has some opinions on this. I believe he uses a Mustard Based sauce...
I'm a huge fan of mustard sauces.
I like molasses-based sauces, too. I know some will find that blasphemous.
And man, every once in a while I have a very hard time turning down a sauce w/ a little heat...
