Positive outlook - 4 Gonzaga starters
Przemek Karnowski was a Polish team player that was unranked and there are 3 high level DI transfers - 2 grad, 1 standard.
You don't have to win 30 games but you don't have to 4 year rebuild either. You CAN put down a foundation while being competitive.
Everyone is frustrated. And I have my doubts.
But I'll wait to see the final roster for next year.
And no one wants to hear excuses or witness a team quit like that again. He's been here a year - if he needs to clean house, fine, but do it and have a plan and work every angle/player possible.

Excellent post. Very fair. He better start delivering next season.

I'm usually at odds with some of the stuff you post, but on this we agree.
Let's just say the Tubby honeymoon is now officially over. It's time to sh!t or get off the pot. I hope the man proves himself, and I'll give him time to prove his mettle.
But the last two games have frustrated me like the last couple of Pastner years. I hate feeling this way about my team's lack of heart.

That's what I've been saying. Let's see how we look going into year 2. And then by how we play in year 2, we'll know much better and be able to start judging whether he's going to get it done, or this will be his first real failure.
Gonzaga is an interesting case. Not a 4-year rebuild, but a very experienced team via other means. Of their top 8 rotation guys, only 3 of them came straight from hs. 2 internationals, 2 traditional transfers, 1 grad transfer.
Also, 6 of the 8 have been out of hs at least 3 years. Very mature. And no 5-stars, but five 4-stars. They had 2 freshmen in rotation.
It's an interesting roster. Supplement with 2-3 grad/traditional transfers - even the right jucos - and we can speed up the process.

Unfortunately, no amount of reason will stop a lot of our fans from whining. There's a clear/realistic recruiting path to us becoming relevant again. If Tubby gets takes advantage then we can judge from there and if he doesn't, we can get someone in here who can. Patience doesn't sell newspapers but there's no need to lose our minds at this point.

This year...Recruiting wise is meh...But no one really expected Tubby to bring 4*s to Memphis from outside of the City (He did miss on Stokes though)
2018 and 2019 are very important if they are meh recruiting wise Tubby better be in the sweet 16 at least one of those years.
