JACKSON 99, AKRON GARFIELD 66 Logan Hill poured in a game-high 26 points as the top seeded Polar Bears clinched a berth in next week's district at Canton Memorial Civic Center. Hill became the 112th Stark County boys basketball player to reach 1,000 career points in the first quarter. He scored half his 26 points in the third and currently sits at 1,023 for his career. Jackson (22-2) built a 49-22 halftime lead and was never threatened. Anthony Mazzeo scored 13 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter. Kyle Young finished with 14 points. The Polar Bears will face No. 4 seed Copley on Wednesday.

Garfield Heights trailed Kenston by a point after one quarter, but seized control for a 59-47 win in their Solon District semifinal. Marreon Jackson’s 23 points led the Bulldogs.
