Very true. They have an excellent shot at it this year.

RE: WBB: Toledo vs. Kent State in Cleveland
A few random thoughts:

1)First the game: First and foremost the overriding consideration is that to their credit the Lady Rockets found a way to win despite less playing a less than a perfect game (with respect to fouls, turnovers, missed free throw) after having fought back from a 7 point deficit to take the lead during the final minutes. I imagine that Kent fans think that Kent "lost the game" more than they think Toledo "won the game" and it is true that BOTH teams had a chance to win but in the final analysis, TOLEDO FOUND A WAY TO WIN and Kent found a way to lose and that point can not be over emphasized.

2)All the first round upsets indicate the parity in the league this year and also suggests that, contrary to conventional wisdom, maybe a first round bye is NOT a good thing? Conventional wisdom also says that all the upsets should give the Rockets a easier path to the title---but while that may be true, it also suggests that all the teams that won are playing their best ball at the right time of the season---so no gimmes here

3) Playing Buffalo is a blessing and a curse as is playing any team that you have already defeated twice----if the teams are anywhere near comparable in ability as these two are, then "the third time really is the charm". Still I rather be playing Buffalo for a third time rather than Ohio for a third time just because I think that we match up better with Buffalo than we do with Ohio.

4)All four of the remaining teams have a realistic shot at the title----this is an opportunity that a typical team does not often have and it is always disappointing when that opportunity is not seized. However, at this exact point in the tournament the Rockets' prospects are not nearly so good as those of the 2012-2013 team were going into the semi-finals ---However, that team, as good as its record was, found a way to lose when it counted most unlike this team that found a way to win last night which is encouraging. Also encouraging is that unlike most UT revenue team over the past decade, this team appears to be playing it best ball at the end of the season when it counts the most.

St. Fort. Nobody in the stands caught the reason why but we gotvtexts from people watching on tv that the reason looked weak. Refs called everything right last night so it was consistent with their whistles

Thanks. One thing I noticed lately is that Ball State, OU and NIU all were much more physical than UT when they won. It seemed like Janice, Sara and a few others decided to use more muscle and our D and rebounding really picked up. I thought BSU played borderline dirty at Toledo and we never responded. Two Ts in the last couple games? I don't necessarily mind that at all.

Just looked at the actual box and wow what a game Sophie had. In addition to 11 points, she had 5 boards, 1 assist, 3 steals and 3 blocks - shot 4-4 from the field and 3-4 from the line. She also provided some of that physical play that is sorely needed in games like this. The senior captain really has come to play these last couple weeks.

It took me a minute, but yeah. That would seem likely. Hopefully, here, right?

Great TEAM win. Huge defensive efforts from Santucci, St. Fort, Boyd, Jay-Ann, Janice, Sophie. Sophie was huge off the bench. Keep it up ladies!!!
