What. According to some on here Europe is being raped and pillaged by Muslims? So which is it.
But how do you miss the original point though? No one expected 4 Americans to die in Benghazi. Certainly not by a milita attack of all things.
Probability johnny, probability. Where do you think an American diplomat is more likely to be killed by terrorists?

Sounds like a good plan to me. I bet that there are a lot of unnecessary paper pushers in there.

Certainly not at a temporary outpost that is almost never used.

Unthinkable???? Yeah, an American ambassador and his support staff in the middle of a bunch of radical muslims with weapons. What could possibly go wrong?

Cause there was no point?
Die? Perhaps not. Possibly, even probably attacked? Ohhhhhh hell yes they did.
Repeated requests for additional security, ISIS flags noted flying from rooftops all around the area, and I believe (if memory serves) that Stevens even said something to the effect of "I think we are at an increased risk of attack"pp.
Increased security, please? DENIED.

Show me a report where someone in the state department predicted such an event.

The state department wanted everyone to think that Obama's leading from behind strategy in Libya and overthrowing Kadaffi was a great success....."they love us there". LOL.
After our cluster fark in Iraq, geez, you can't be that......nevermind.

RE: Trump pitches 37 percent cut to State Department budget
Quote:Stevens, who was killed in the 11 September attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, warned the State Department of a 'security vacuum' in Libya 'that is being exploited by independent actors' in one cable that described rapidly deteriorating security conditions.
'Islamic extremists are able to attack the Red Cross with impunity,' he wrote. 'What we have seen are not random crimes of opportunity but rather targeted discriminate attacks.'
Just hours before his death, he sent the Pentagon a cable describing 'expanding Islamist influence in Dema,' a town east of Benghazi, and said he was seeing a 'troubling increase in violence and Islamist influence.'
Stevens recapped a meeting in which the commander of Benghazi's Supreme Security Council told him there is 'growing frustration with police and security forces.'
On Aug. 2, six weeks before Stevens was killed, he requested 'protective detail bodyguard' positions, calling the security situation in Libya 'unpredictable, volatile and violent.'
A month earlier, he requested that the State Department extend his tour of duty personnel, which is a 16-man temporary security team trained in combating terrorism. The request was denied and the security team left 8 August.
Stevens had asked for the security team to stay through mid-September.

So, johnny boy, who could have predicted these things? Stevens apparently.

Dear God don't ever attempt statistical analysis.
Hell, a google wizard and source authority like yourself should be able to deduce the answer by simply looking at the State Department's travel warnings. No warnings for the UK, warning for Libya. I wonder which one a US diplomat is more likely to get killed at???

Stevens must have been confused and was actually thinking of London.
