More senseless MD, bull . . . . .
First off, Northwestern is 9-6 with two regular season games left....at home, so barring two more losses and a first-round tourney loss, that's the only way the Mildcats will "lose" half their conference games.
Yes, it's a down year in the B1G, but it's a really down year in the MAC (slipping from MaddDawgz No. 9 spot to No. 13 or 14) .... and it's a down year for college basketball in general.
Question, if everyone is down, is the B1G really that much further down, or simply down the same?
MD can you in any way account for the hypocrisy of you arguing on behalf of the MAC's strength by noting Jerry Palm (currently) or someone else rating the MAC at 14th, yet in that same list placing the B1G fourth --
but that you discount.
You can't have it both ways. If you're right to call the B1G "a so-so conference", then what does that say about everyone ranked beneath....SEC 5th, PAC-12 6th, American 7th, Atlantic 10 8th, West Coast 9th, Mountain West 10th, Colonial 11th, Missouri Valley 12th, Sun Belt 13th, plus 18 more conferences?
I am a Huskie fan and want Huskie basketball to succeed, but I'm not so jaded as to look at Northwestern's schedule and believe this NIU team and coach could go 20-9 overall or 9-6 for league play versus the same slate! Do keep in mind that Northwestern's home date with UI-Springfield was an "exhibition" for the Mildcats, but one of NIU's 15 actual wins.....which also include beating Olivet Nazarene in a game that school lists as an exhibition.
