Did you learn a new word with "nuance?" I don't think it means what you think it means.

And even Cinderella UConn, at 9-9 in conference, would meet the .500 standard.

Throw in a terrible loss to a sub 200 team (Boston College) and only TWO wins all year away from the Carrier Dome and the Orange have zero business being on the bubble. When your two best out of conference wins are Monmouth and Eastern Michigan, then bye, Felicia.

Sadly, unless they tank, they'll get in because that's the way the world works.

fricking bs

As a Middle Tennessee alum, I fear some of the same things you guys are talking about. I hate conference tournaments being the means for determining the auto bid. It's hard for any team - no matter how good you are or how bad your competition is - to win three games in three days. Lots of things can go wrong.

I'm not sure what more we could do that the committee wants. We can barely get anyone to play us. We have 14 true road wins. How many teams in the country can say that? We have wins over two conference champs (Wilmington and Belmont). Wilmington swept both the regular season and tournament championship. We obliterated Vanderbilt and Ole Miss. In comparison to Syracuse, we have the 19th hardest non-conference schedule. Syracuse's? 194 and they went 8-5 against it.

But we know how these things go. C-USA certainly didn't help us. Too many bad teams in the bottom of the league. La Tech and ODU have quality teams. No one else is in the top 100 because the bottom half of the league brought everyone else down.

Wish us luck. We may need it.

Syracuse lost again away from the Dome. Talking heads still saying they are in. Unbelievable. 85 right now in the rpi and 2-11 away from home. 2-11.

And it's not like they were losing a bunch of close battles on the road. 17 point loss to Wisconsin. 15 to a horrible sub 200 Boston College team. 10 at Virginia Tech. 20 at Louisville. 17 at UNC. 18 at Notre Dame. 14 to South Carolina.
