The win was their 7th in 7 games against Western Division teams and places them as 3rd seed ahead of Buffalo.

03-shhhh Shhhhh, LTF... Based on most threads I read on here, I don't think many people on this board realize the Cards even play in the conference, let alone that they are among the top 4 seeds. Last I read, they are at best the 9th or 10th team in the league, well behind those teams in the West that they've beaten. Probably best not to alert them...

According to Jeremy Guy at the MAC, Buffalo is still ahead of Ball State. The Division record is only used to determine a division winner as it would not be fair to compare Buffalo's 10 games in the MAC East with Ball State's in the MAC West. Since UB and Ball St. are tied, it goes to record against ranked division teams and Buffalo has the win over Kent State to pull them ahead.

Can someone explain to me what this means? What's a ranked division team?

They look at the tied teams' record against the first place team. If they are still tied, they look at their record against the second place team. They keep going down the standings until the tie is broken

And under the current setup, division is irrelevant. It's conference rank only.

3 minutes remaining first half at UT/CMU and Rayson and Keene have combined for 6, all by Rayson.

The streak not really a surprise with the state of the two programs.

Its gets to be more of a hump think when you've been good but you haven't broken through against the streak. Ohio did it in football this year against Toledo. Played them tough with Solich but wasn't until this year where they could breakthrough.

Akron next year has a nice football season and gets its first win against Ohio in a decade that would be a program defining win, IMO.

Dear MAC Followers,
Eastern knocked off Northern Illinois 84-68. Eastern plays Central next, that game may determine the basement dweller in the West.

Broncos win 80-55 over BSU, sixth win in a row. Hottest team in MAC right now. If we can carry this mojo into the conference tourney, could be interesting.

Ball State was never really in it once Western took the lead early on.

I said last game I really like Haymond as a player.
