here's bits and pieces of the article in the event the link doesn't work:
In an attempt to capitalize on a historic 2016 season, one that ended with the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1987, Tech is rolling out a few changes that will help with the game-day atmosphere while doubling as an additional revenue source.
Within the past month, Tech sold four season-long 15 by 15 spots spots on the grass down the right field line for $1,500 per space. They include a 10 by 10 Louisiana Tech branded tent, a grill, high-top tables and 10 general admission season tickets.
Southern Miss and Mississippi State, two stadiums Tech played at during the 2016 postseason, incorporates a tailgating-like atmosphere in the outfield and, in the case of Southern Miss, down the right field line. The idea spawned from those experiences.
Preseason fan interest is higher than normal due to last year's success. Born said season tickets are already up about 50 percent from 2016, with Tech selling about 400 tickets, a number Born said is the highest revenue in the system Tech has on record since 2009.
Season ticket sales are the base for Tech. Attendance numbers will spike based off individual game sales. Tech's home schedules features Arkansas, Wichita State and Southern Miss, among others.
Tech's attendance jumped from 467 in 2014 to an average of 1,012 per game in 2016. A home series against Rice featured more than 5,000 fans over a three-day period.
