The nationwide total of votes has always been referred to as the popular vote. If y'all want to do some serious mental gymnastics to convince yourselves that Trump won the popular vote (that somehow doesn't exist), I'll leave you to it.

Geez, Trump did not win the popular vote BECAUSE THERE IS NO POPULAR VOTE. This is 3rd grade stuff.

I'm going to laugh my ass off when Trump wins reelection without the much vaunted so-called nationwide popular vote again.

All of the people that didn't vote, dislike Hillary more than they love George Stuffalopolis and Ellen and the View. Despite the GMA and daytime television push, The hate of Hillary won. It was the most popular vote.

No, obviously for senators and president the voting districts don't matter. I'm referring to the House and state reps. For 2018, Democrats will need a hell of a Senate strategy, because the odds are not in their favor.
Yea, so far they are knocking it out of the park.
Holding their breath, stomping their feet, walking out on committee meetings on Cabinet confirmations, now threatening to boycott/ not show for the State of the Union address and countless other childish tantrums.
Maybe they can fall back on the "Putin hacked the election" canard, when all that happened was the corrupt, morally bankrupt DNC was exposed as the crooked junta many suspected it was all along, including Bernie. He's the one that got robbed last go around, not the Cank.

I'm convinced it's just sour grapes and people are being obtuse just to be indignant. That's the only way to explain how some folks should have failed elementary school,

Now you know how the rest of feel when you've tried to say the reason Democrats have been routinely voted out of office is because.............. Republican gerrymandering.

Subtract the illegals (which Trump will get to the bottom of) and Trump won the popular vote.

That's ignoring a lot of gerrymandering that took place in 2011 after the fallout from the 2010 elections. Doesn't help that midterms tend to be mostly ignored by Democrats.
Democrats definitely need more strategy and better organization, but gerrymandering has been a huge issue in the '12, '14, and '16 elections. They're going to need to figure out both for '18 and especially '20.
If Dems cannot get registered voters to vote in the midterms, then what's the point of the Dems throwing their weight around talking about how engaged they are and how they are the long term party that will bury the GOP? This is more than a simple "get out the vote" initiative. This is systemic on the Dem side. What's potentially worse for the Dems long term is that this can very well turn into a generational decline. The potential parallels between Carter/Reagan and Obama/Trump are easy to see.

Well, that's half of it. Republican gerrymandering and Democrat neglect has cost them House and state seats.
RE: The Night Berkeley Betrayed The Free Speech Movement
I was watching some film footage of the riots and there were police standing by and watching while many masked rioters were busting windows and throwing Molotov cocktails.
I found a news story that said one arrest was made. One?
I thought that the police motto was "To serve and protect"?

I heard, on Hannity's radio show I believe, that law enforcement officers were told to stand down. Or maybe it was stand back. I wasn't really paying attention. Hopefully someone corrects me on this.

Does anyone else find it kind of hilarious that the people who are breaking windows and lighting stuff on fire to rally against a gay Jew are the ones calling him a Nazi? Regardless of what you think of Milo (I think he's an a-hole who supports some bad policies but is very articulate when it comes to debunking social justice and third-wave feminism), you can practically taste the irony.

Gotta believe if he was black and Muslim that the left would think he was a rock star. Even if he held the same views. They at least wouldn't protest him.
