Trump won because Democrats, especially in swing states, didn't show up to the polls. There was no movement behind Trump as he likes to claim. Democrats have no one to blame but themselves for not getting out the vote.

Isn't that proof that Trump won the popular vote?

Damn, some of y'all are dumb asses.

No. It's proof that he got a couple million more votes than Romney, but that's about it. Definitely not a 'movement'. Hillary still had ~2.9 million more votes.

Since Barack Obama took office, the Democratic Party has lost 63 seats in the House, 11 Senate seats, and, most important, 13 governorships and a remarkable 947 state legislative seats. Rejection of the Democratic Party has been general, across the U.S.

Yea, that's why we could all watch it unfold in realtime last night. The hired thugs were out and at it yet again, apparently students and FACULTY were involved as well.

The new face of modern day fascism. Good job Bezerkeley.

So now Real news is fake news?

WOW... are you intentionally posting to be obtuse?

And the people that were assaulted BY TRUMP SUPPORTERS AT TRUMP'S RALLIES??

FIFY

You mean the same ones, the Hillary goons, that admitted in taped conversations that they were paying people to wear a hat and intentionally stir up trouble, instigate fights?

The same guys that were forced to resign from their shadow jobs for her campaign? Yea, got it.

That's ignoring a lot of gerrymandering that took place in 2011 after the fallout from the 2010 elections. Doesn't help that midterms tend to be mostly ignored by Democrats.

Democrats definitely need more strategy and better organization, but gerrymandering has been a huge issue in the '12, '14, and '16 elections. They're going to need to figure out both for '18 and especially '20.

IMO, the bold is more in play than any gerrymandering.

You keep running with those moral victories only believed by other Democrats. I'll take the W recorded in world history.

Gerrymandering isn't a moral victory. Democrats whiffed it in 2010, which allowed Republicans to heavily redraw districts. Sometimes even illegally.

Democratic Senators especially vulnerable in 2018. Is it your contention that better strategy and organization will be enough or are you suggesting that gerrymandering will be an issue as well? Honestly that sounds absurd, at least regarding the Senate.

No, obviously for senators and president the voting districts don't matter. I'm referring to the House and state reps. For 2018, Democrats will need a hell of a Senate strategy, because the odds are not in their favor.

Wrong!

Legal voters actually voted for Trump with their ballot or against Hillary (and giving Trump a chance) by not voting.

President Donald Trump won the popular vote. By any measure.

Well, I don't know what alternate dimension you're posting from. In this one, he lost the popular vote by almost 2.9 million votes.

Which popular vote? I know he lost the ones in California, New York and a few other states; but he won the ones in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Texas and most of the states in this nation.

Votes "for" Trump + votes against Hillary (voters who voted for OBAMA but didn't vote) = Trump winning the popular vote.

There is no national popular vote. Geez people, what's it going to take for people to understand this? I mean, honestly, this type stuff was on my 3rd graders social studies test today. Third grade!! Either we are a country of complete idiots, or so far partisan that the truth no longer matters.
