The turnovers were the killer. Tried multiple guys at PG and everyone was way too soft with the ball primarily in the half court.
Bad bad bad
So let me get this straight, your solution to turnover is...play faster?
How does that make any sense?

I have no idea who is supposed to take the big shot at crunch time. I don't think the coaches or players know either.
There's dudes on the roster. Wilson, Porter, and to a lesser extent Highsmith. Problem is, they haven't developed for whatever reason.
The guard play is killing this team.

I agree. We slowed the tempo down. I would have to guess that is on the coaching staff.

Huskies play scared with a lead, both coaching and actual play.
Havent felt a basketball loss like this for a long time.

I felt Wilson could have been the difference late. He is mired on the bench. He was the potential spark late IMO

Obviously you didn't watch the first half. That's how it makes sense.
Seemed to work just fine for the first 20.

Highsmith over Wilson is just a joke right now.
I want Highsmith to shoot it more but it's not even in his thought process
How Maric barely touches the ball in the 2nd half is just mind numbing
On the plus side, that's the best team in the conference and we were dismantling them, but our starting senior SG is not a playmaker, wrong line up on the floor the last 5 minutes
Frustrating

Maric had what, 18 at half. Four shots in the second half. This one hurt.

Huskies crush Akron in shooting tonight. Turnovers due them in and people want to blame the coach? WTF!

Offense in the second half was run the weave, then drive the basket with a guard who would turn the ball over. Tell me how that worked better than the up tempo?
The up tempo wore on Akron in the first half. Their bench is not good. So, when the pace dictated substitution, Akron couldn't keep up.
Maric had the worst 20 point plus game I've ever seen. Lack of boxing out on important possessions. Bad ball handling. Dumb turnovers for a senior.
And, when Akron's big man, playing in the paint, only has one foul until late in the game, it isn't the fault of the officials. Defend him when Akron has the ball, and make him defend when NIU has the ball.
So tired of wasting my time and money on going to the Convo to see this.

I was wondering how people were going to respond. All I know is that this program was literally one of the worst programs in the country during the Patten era (truly one of the worst), and now we are competing at the top of the conference and have a shot of winning nearly every game. Not celebrating a notch above mediocrity, but this program is chipping its way back and for that I am grateful
Go Huskies

People were calling last years recruiting class one of the best, if not the best ever. Anything short of even a conference tournament final appearance has to be deemed a failure by the time the class graduates.

Ummm yeah sure.
Thought that's what I said.
1st half up tempo= good
2nd half slower tempo= bad
Take care of the ball
Get stops on defensive end
Get out and go
These 3 things DIDNT happen in 2nd half.

Well, they lost by 3 to the best team in the conference, and they were 3 point underdogs. They've had much worse losses this year.

Monty's in game decisions in regards to roster moves and play calls are just straight up atrocious. Is there something in the water at NIU? Because both football and basketball coaches have a very tough time when it comes to in game decision making.

But they were up by 14 at half. That is what makes this loss brutal. It isn't a moral victory type game. It was a collapse.
