Caught part of my first night game at Memorial Park/Eagle Field with Deez on Friday (I've been to a day game), really love the night game atmosphere! Those late spring games under the lights are awesome I'm sure!

Diamond Dukes and Keydets are tied 0-0 heading to the top 4th. Dukes have 3 hits and 3 LOB thru 3. Bummer.

Dukes down 6-1 heading to the top of the 9th. Ugh. The once bright and shining 12-3 record has been followed by .500 ball over the last 8 games.

Hopefully the guys can get a CAA series win down at Elon this weekend and get some mojo back. Friday looks like a complete washout so I am expecting a DH on Saturday + normally scheduled Sunday finale. Weather looks good for Sat & Sun in the Greensboro area.

Looks like Saturday's game time has been moved up from 3pm to 1:30pm. With rain expected all day tomorrow, we'll see if the series opener is washed out and a DH is scheduled Saturday.

Poor start for the Good Guys on the road at Elon tonight. Phoenix up 2-0 in btm 1st.

Good Guys fall behind early for the 2nd day in a row as Elon kicks a field goal for the 3-0 lead now in the 2nd, though Schor and the guys are in the red zone now.

Well the first game of the series did NOT go as well as it could have. Hopefully the Dukes can respond with two good games to close out the weekend and win the series.

The offense has been in a funk of late. 4 of the last 6 games (all losses), the Good Guys have scored 2 or less runs. Struggling to scratch one across today. Nothing but goose eggs thru 6 for the Dukes. Still in it though.

I just started following the team this season. Does anyone with more knowledge know how our current pitching staff rates on average? It seems like pitching development is one of Ike and his staff's strengths based on their bios but in the games I attended we seem a bit reliant on offense. Is my perception accurate?

Yes. The offense has carried the Dukes for most of the season. Going into this weekend (not counting yesterday's loss), our team ERA of 4.91 at the time was 163rd in the nation. And, that's not against a powerhouse schedule (strength of schedule currently ranked #226 in the RPI).

When the offense goes quiet as it has lately, we are in trouble.

Thanks WP, I noticed our rotation is mostly upperclassmen from the previous coach. I assumed the team should be expected to improve a lot defensively in Ike's year 3&4 when they have more time to recruit and develop some arms.

4 losses in a row. Dukes have crossed the plate 6 times during this losing streak. While giving up 6 or more in each loss.

16-9 overall and 2-3 in the CAA. Dukes have dropped 40 spots in the RPI since the beginning of the week to now at #147.
