look, I'm in the FBS at all costs camp too but why alienate yourself further by posting this four times and without any info to support your claims? I'm all for continuing the dialogue and hearing everyone's opinions about moving or not. truth is no one on this board has any control over it (unless they run a multi-million dollar organization and can write a 7 figure check to athletics) so I just don't understand your point.

Anyone know what the actual article says? I'm guessing it just has a quote of Bourne saying the CAA is a strong conference.

Obviously flooding the main page with this garbage was a silly thing to do, but I'll chalk it up to an accident/mis-click.

However, the post is seriously worthless. You should delete it because it makes no sense, and if you're going to be super negative at least make a coherent point.

I read the article. Hazed is just being dramatic. Get over yourself. You're putting words in Bourne's mouth but what else is new.

He said it would be interesting to see if the G5 form their own playoff and that he believes it's only a matter of time before there is a more significant divide placed between the P5 and the G5, essentially making them their own level.

In other news, that's old news we were talking about a month ago.

This is my read. Bourne is saying we are relevant in FCS. Until the G5 comes up with a playoff system that resembles the FCS playoffs, Bourne is content to stay in FCS.
I'll be long gone by the time G5 has a 24 team playoff.

thing is - I kind of agree with hazed as I referenced in my earlier post and now having read the rivals article I do agree with his sentiment. Bourne stated “It makes you think about where you are and where you can remain relevant,” which leads the reader to believe caa4lyfe.

The problem is, again as referenced above, the way in which he went about it, posting 4 new threads crowding an already over crowded home page and without any meaningful dialogue to bring to the table. Right now there are philosophical disagreements between JMU admin and SOME JMU alum. Some of us believe that no matter what we could remain relevant and would rise to more of an App/Boise at the G5 level than the ODU which the article led the reader to believe has become irrelevant because their bowl garnered less viewership ratings than our last two games (individually, none of this combined viewership bs).

Read the article, and don't like the mindset it portrays.

When you reach the top of FCS, if you don't use that wave of success to move forward to FBS, your program is likely to stagnate over a 5-10 year period.

Out of 8 teams that have been multi year FCS champs, 3 have moved to FBS:
Georgia Southern
App St
Marshall

The ones that haven't
NDSU (recent success, many fans would like to move up)
YSU (stagnant from a fan base perspective)
Montana
EKU
JMU

I'd rather be part of the group that catches the wave and moves at the right time.
