I'm shocked at how poor of a basketball conference we have been. Traditionally strong programs have vastly underperformed for the most part (UAB, WKU, ODU) other programs who have had moderate success have been terrible (USM, UTEP) and it seems we have a handful of programs that are fielding a basketball team just for the hell of it (F_U, UNC, UTSA).

When realignment happened I really had hope for this conference in basketball. I was disappointed by losing certain teams like Memphis and Tulsa but I thought this would be a much more competitive league and we would be able to send at least two or three teams a year to the tournament. I guess the league has become more competitive but unfortunately that doesn't mean it's good.

Always hate to see that nomatter who the team. ODU definitely has a smothering defense
