RE: Official Game Thread: Savannah State
Peter averages like 1 min per game this season. That will be great prep for conference, SoCon tourney, and onward I'm sure. Throw the poor guy a bone already, coach. We'll regret it in March when we have to play real size and come up short.

RE: Official Game Thread: Savannah State
What's really sad is, if Peter wanted to sit the bench, he could have stayed at Indiana. And then he would at least have had the benefit of being on a team that went to the big dance, won a game there, and beat Chattanooga all at once! Three things he's not participated in yet at ETSU! Make me eat my words, coach!

Not really if we ever need Jurkin in March we are screwed, real size will eat him alive

McClanahan could be all-conference in the SoCon. At least second team.

RE: Official Game Thread: Savannah State
I want to officially go on record with Rod: this team misses entirely too many layups. I'm not saying their FG% is suffering because of it, but it could probably be 5-10% better if we had some way to track the outcome so far.

What the hell was dude thinking on that flagrant? That was garbage.

OMG, immediately followed by another crap hard foul. Chill out.

Payne went ice cold. Law of averages?

Payne really doing a great job guarding the 6'5" Cabeza all night. Harassing him quite well.

I think our entire defensive effort has been good tonight.

If a jumper was in the paint.

I'm sure all 5 were uncontested open court bricks too. Your obsession with this is really not healthy

Cromer's best game since early in the year, or maybe the best game ever?
Notice how many times he's found Payne open after drawing the D towards him.

Seriously, is Peter's leg acting up or something? Bad grades now? Second time this year the walkon played instead of Peter. It just seems really odd, not just because he's a 7 footer, not just because he's more than acceptable in any 20 point lead situation...he's a senior. Reward him with some measly time in what's potentially his last season of organized ball.

UT beat A&M in their gym by ten but had been up by twenty or more at one point. Point being, UT maybe is better than thought -- all we needed was two more baskets plus a foul shot to take em -- much more than ca be said for Texas A&M. Good win tonight against a team tha beat a power five outfit. Looked like a decent crowd from geographically afar.

Not saying Chattanooga was lucky in their first game of season, by any means, but they would be playing an entirely different Tennessee team right now. Good for the Vols tonight.

Maybe it will play to our favor and give Chattanooga a false sense of security in our first matchup, who knows. Good rebound tonight for the Bucs. Kick VMI's ass on Saturday. It will be practically a repeat of tonight, swap McClanahan for Peterson.

What?03-confused

We're 10-3 in nonconference play for the first time in a decade or more, well positioned going into conference play, and that sucks?. I know picking up a win against the Vols of one of the other two teams we lost to would have been nice, but this is still one of the best records we've had in ages. We should be well over the 20 win mark going into Asheville at this rate.

RE: Official Game Thread: Savannah State
I'm sure JustBuc was simply being sarcastic regarding the fact that some of us still complain about certain aspects of this team even though we have a good record. That is true at least for me. I think we have beat only one Division 1 team which currently has a winning record. We have no bad losses, no great wins. I am cautiously optimistic about conference play but we do have to clean up some things such as layups and free throws and I do think that we will eventually need more consistent play by our inside guys (including Jurkin).
