Kent State @ Oregon State
Well, I'm ready for this one! We are favored too...that's nice!
If we show up ready tonight, they are in severe trouble. The formula is simple; Score, rebound, defend. They have one of the worst assist to turnover ratios in the nation. Pressure them.
Remember, Beavers build dams. Golden Flashes build championships!
Go Flashes!

RE: Kent State @ Oregon State
The Beavers enter tonight's game at 3-9 with a home record of only 3-5. Of their three wins, the most impressive looks to be a 72-64 victory over UTSA who I believe I saw play in the NCAA tournament a few years back at Quicken Loans Arena. The other two wins are over Prairie View Agricultural & Mechanical and Southern Oregon. They have been smoked in some losses including 83-58 at Nevada and 74-57 at Mississippi State. Just looking at the schedule, the Flashes should be able to hang with OSU.
The player that Kent State must stop is 6'8 220 pound forward Tres Tinkle. Note to self, leave the name alone because after this cat puts up 31 points tonight you will regret it. But on the other hand, he has only played in six games, so maybe his season has been flushed away? Either way, Tinkle averages 20 points and 8 rebounds per night. Another big man, 6'10 250 pound Drew Eubanks averages 13 points and 8.6 rebounds per night to go along with 34 blocked shots. Big men from big schools like this worry me. I hope the Flashes can body this guy up and keep him off the boards a bit.
Making his way back into action recently is 6'4 guard Stephen Thompson Junior. This guy played all 40 minutes in a loss to Long Beach State a few nights ago. Thompson is hitting for 14 per night. Also keep an eye on 6'4 wings Ronnie Stacey and Kendall Manuel.
This one will be revealing. While it wouldn't be a win to brag about, it would show that the Flashes are mature enough (but more importantly talented enough) to go on the road and beat a wounded power 5 team. Hey, anytime you get a chance to play on one of the 28 ESPN stations, its a good thing.
burden, lets see if some reverse psychology can do the trick...
Oregon State 65
Kent State 58
Free throw shooting does the good guys in

Tres Tinkle is out. Unless you've heard differently...

Tinkle couldn't hit the rim anyway.

8 minutes in 2-16, 0-6 from three, 3 turnovers but we're only down 4? I'll take it I guess...

Wow... what did I just watch? It felt like we dominated the game in every aspect but the ball wouldn't go in.
Fallsdog, looks like you were spot on as far as free throws goes...

May be one of the most athletic teams in a long time. Tough to watch our guard play. Need to defend the arc much better in 2nd half and make half the easy shots we've clanked in the 1st half

Just realized something crazy. This is only our second game in an opponents gym. Other than the Northeastern game all other road games were neutral site games.

Someone needs to ask Elias if a team has ever had 30 offensive rebounds, forced 25 turnovers and lost by double digits. Bet that has NEVER happened in the history of D1 basketball.
