RE: MAC Bowl games
MAC talent is just sub-par compared to other conferences, and it's proven time and time again every year. I don't accept the arguments "the players don't care about bowls" or any of that BS.

What happened this year was the MAC didn't have it's usual match ups because of WMU making the Cotton Bowl. You also have down years for BGSUX and NIU making the Conference weaker. The MAC has access Bowl berths 2 of the last 5 seasons, which is strong.

Correction---NIU did not get an access bowl berth. NOTHING was given to the Group of Five when NIU went to the Orange Bowl. The additional major bowl was created to give the Group of Five a berth afterwards. Western Michigan's Cotton Bowl appearance is based on them being the best of the Group of Five. NIU's bid to the Orange Bowl was based on them being the next best in line of ALL 128 (or how many ever there were) teams regardless of Power 5 or Group of 5.

RE: MAC Bowl games
Our conference was down this year and stand by my original prediction the MAC will not win a bowl game this year. I'll even say WMU has no business being in the Cotton Bowl and gets smashed. They were barely able to beat some awful teams in the conference including us.

I still think the navy loss wa a more embarrassing Than any MAC loss

It's impossible to take meaning from these exhibition games though. Fans don't care players don't care We wouldn't judge the packers on going 0-4 in exhibition

Yeah, Navy'a shootout loss with their 4th and 5th string QBs was way more embarrassing than CMU getting destroyed by Tulsa. Give it a rest MD, the MAC is the worst conference in FBS, and I know it's overused, but it's honestly not even close. The MAC is a laughing stock.

RE: MAC Bowl games
Bowl games, OOC games, it doesn't matter... the MAC consistently gets wrecked against average or quality opponents. There's just too big of a disparity in terms of talent level and perception of the MAC. MAC venues are pitiful: empty, quiet stadiums with comatose fan bases. Few players coming out of HS dream about playing Akron in front of 10K fans. Its just simply reality.

a lot of narrow MAC losses but I just don't put much importance into it since players and fans could care less anyway. They are exhibitions

Not to mention the controversial passing interference penalty late in the game that turned an interception into an eventual LA Tech TD. Of course he wouldn't know about that or the QB situation, in another thread he openly admitted to not watching any of the game. Easy to make blanket statements when you don't know what happened.

I second that vote for Central Michigan for most embarrassing loss. 45 point thrashing. Just another pathetic MAC showing.

When is the last time the MAC had a win as good as Houston's win over eventual Big 12 champ #3 Oklahoma?
