The players didn't want to miss out on the bowl swag they're going to get.
MOney beats "morals" every time.

Hope they lose by 50 and people say" NIU would've put on a better fight ". Thanks for the free advertising. Can't imagine what this will do to Minnesota's recruiting class. Parents want no part in sending their kids into a hot mess of a program. Maybe we can poach their non rapist players as many of them are transferring.

Definitely a huge blessing, going into a game against a top 20 team without a coach or a QB spells something really really bad

Baylor lost a sizeable amount of its recruiting class to Texas after the whole Art Briles incident (including some 5-stars if I remember correctly).
If Minnesota commits decide to jump ship, I'm sure there's a couple programs in Champaign and Ann Arbor that would gladly take them

People on this board care about Huskie football. No one else here gives two s***s about the programs in Chambana and Ann Arbor.

RE: Minny folded like a cheap suit – NIU out
Minnesota did fold like a cheap suit. To be fair though, I think part of it is that the players were a little too hair-triggered to boycott in the first place -- something worthy of prosecution is different from suing and different from, in this case, violating school rules. Maybe they came down to earth and realized that a Gang Bang of drunk players on a drunk girl who regrets it and complains about it violates some student code somewhere where they can practice and aren't off the team, but can't play in the bowl game.
Either way, it would have been good to see NIU in the bowl game. If the Minn players actually feel it was wrong for the school to penalize the players, they should have stood with their stance and have some gumption. Otherwise, they sound like a freshman girl ("No, I don't want to the mall. Yes, I want to go to the mall...").

And ain't nobody transferring to the Illini. The only time I care about the Illini is when they're on our schedule.

Maybe, but I don't hear any of our fans bitching about Harbaugh or Lovie (at least not yet)

i highly doubt we are "poaching" anyone from Minnesota, unless we are discussing Minnesota State University.
