Calling him a liar is wrong. If he believed his son would play that doesn't make him a liar. It makes him an optimistic father..

I actually talked to his dad at the hotel the day of SHSU (and his mom). His dad told me it was very doubtful he'd play NDSU, though he would give anything to play that game, but he would definitely be back for the championship.

I wouldn't count on it.

It will be 5 full weeks since UNH game right? Since he was well enough to try playing that game hopefully he has enough time to heal up.

RE: Missing players
I always thought high ankle sprains are a 4-6 week injury. I'm sure there are variables on both sides of that timetable, but that's what I always thought. Sure, he reinjured it against UNH. Does that mean we completely start over? I wouldn't necessarily assume that.

Let's put it this way. If you put a gun to my hand and made me bet (which would a really odd thing to do), I would bet he starts. He may not finish the game, but I think he'll start. No inside info at all.

Any chance he's out due to something other than High Ankle Sprain?

I believe the saying is "a gun to your head". Makes more sense.

I've heard whispers. But so far they're just that...unsubstantiated whispers, so until I hear anything, I'll choose not to speculate.

No knowledge of Rigney's status but I was very impressed with Mac Patrick. Being thrown into the fargo dome at the center position as a true frosh isn't the ideal situation.

Agreed. He did a great job of stepping into one of the most important positions on the field and not only handling his blocking, but having some pretty sharp snaps the rest of the game.

Just watching the game again on ESPN3 and Rigney came back in for the last drive of the 1st half (right after the NDSU touchdown). Then Mac Patrick started the 2nd half. Hopefully after a couple weeks Rigney can get healthy and play.

I talked to Rigney after the game and he was optimistic that he would be ready for Frisco. Regarding Kirsch, he made his injury worse by trying to play hurt.

For those that were able to watch/listen to the Mike Houston show, any word from the coach about Alls or Hereford or any others for that matter?

Missing players
If there are suspended players, I don't really see what the point of keeping it a secret anymore is. It's already known that certain players were missing against ndsu. I doubt bo Pelini is that dense.

A few comments from Madia's article about the 7 suspended players:

1. My favorite thing about JMU's athletic department is the transparency.

2. Kevin Warner went to the Jon Alger school of charisma.

3. Sorry those players put themselves before the team, we'll be fine.

RE: Missing players
I don't see why you would name 2 but not all 7?

Obviously, Houston/JMU don't think people would notice the other 5 because they see very little or no PT. The exception being those guys who are injured and won't be coming back next year and Houston not wanting to hurt NFL potential.

I seem to remember historically that NCAA takes two samples and retests if the first is a failure. I guess they are hoping the second samples will flip the results and they want to protect the player's image until then?

I'm almost more upset that our student athletes are stupid enough that they don't know how to get around a drug test than the fact that they are using drugs while (most likely) on scholarship. #HotTake

RE: Missing players
I had heard Rashad Robinson was out for the playoffs before UNH due to injury, but maybe he is ready for Frisco? No excuses, won in Fargo without the seven, time to do the same in Frisco. Taylor Woods was dressed and in Fargo so he isn't one of the ones suspended. Robbie Walker only played as a KR or as a receiver late in a blowout which is why he DNP in Fargo.

RE: Missing players
DNR today has an article on this stating 7 players are suspended. I think it kind of sucks that only 2 have been identified. Seems unfair to them. I thought this was a team! If it is public that Alls and Hereford are suspended then put the other 5 guys out there. Someone is being protected for the same offense. Pretty obvious who it is.

RE: Missing players
Perhaps it is hard not to mention the obviously missing starters, and not knowing how that info came out, there may have been no need to answer questions that may not have been asked. Just conjecture on my part.

If you are a true detective, scan 3 plus hours of game film with roster numbers ready and check off who is in the film and who is not. Then with program photos in hand look at the team picture to see who you can identify in it. Oops Ravenel is not in that picture, but he played. Then look at the player participation list from SHSU with 55 participants listed, and then look at the same for NDSU 43 participants listed.

Then realizing that the player participant list is never 100 percent accurate, you can make a pretty good guess. but then again some guys suited up and were there but never got into the game. Etc. Etc.

Hint, if it's not the offense or the defense, it's the blank blanks.

Perhaps.....

I completely agree. If you're going to name one person, name all seven. Give me a break with this nonsense. Any YSU coach can see who didn't play last week while being a major contributor all year too and connect the dots. Transparency is needed at this point.
