Rebecca Richards-Kortum wins MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grant"
It was announced a couple of months ago, but still worth celebrating:

In September, Professor of Bioengineering Rebecca Richards-Kortum was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship (aka "Genius Grant") by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Remarkably, she is the first scientist from Houston, the first woman from Houston, and the first Rice faculty member of any kind to receive this honor.
