So this should mean that Houston will suck in a couple of years and he will have moved on.

Good for the AAC, maybe not for Memphis. I think Kiffin could be really, really good IF he has learned anything over the last 3 years. I was hoping if he took an AAC job, it would be with USF as, at least, it is in the Eastern division.

He's no dummy, he's sees this as his path back to a P5 job.

That seems to his specialty...trash a program and then move on.

Good luck Houston...Kiffen sucks.

Kiffin will do very well there. Already is known to be a great recruiter and a really sharp offensive mind. I think the time at UTk and USC humbled him and he knows that this gig at Houston is make or break in terms of remaining a head coach.

He's a great recruiter and does a good job at running an offense. He's proven over and over again that he's awful at managing a program, though. Maybe he's learned a thing or two from his "@$$ chewings" from Saban.

"Over and Over"?

He coached TN for one year. They had a modest improvement from the year before, going 5-7 to 7-5. He brought in the #1 recruiting class in the nation.

Them USC called. Hard to turn that down.

The USC program he took over was limited in scholarships and bowl eligibility because of the Reggie Bush stuff. He did well, all things considered the 1st two years, going 8-4 and 10-2.

The third year USC was preseason #1 and failed to live up to expectations. He was the head coach, but his OC is now the head coach at USC and his DC is now the head coach at LSU. Seems he had the right people in place and good management.

Raiders aren't a "program" and he wasn't the GM.

Lane Kiffin is the NCAA version of Norv Turner. He will leave Houston in much worse shape than they are now, just as he did with USC and that other school.

Aight, then... Guess he had no responsibility for the Raiders. I got it all wrong as I cursed his name week after week

RE: Kiffen to Houston
Personally, I think it's a bad hire for Houston. And for Kiffin.
The guy is apparently one of the least liked guys in all of football. On many levels. When he's the boss, he is just not very good but when he's under a guy like Saban he can maneuver under the radar and succeed.
I hope Houston goes another direction. For their sake.

Lanie Boy (as my wife and I affectionately call him) is one of my heroes because of how he left the UTK program. I believe that school has made three bad hires in a row and I love it.

Anyone that the UTK fans hate, I love. And they sure do hate Lane Kiffen. I can't say that I love Lanie Boy, but I have always loved Steve Spurier just because the UTK fans despise him.

RE: Kiffen to Houston
I actually think this could work out well for Kiffin and Houston. He has had time to learn under the best and there is no doubt Kiffin can recruit. Good for the conference as well to hire a coach with some name recognition.
