OU vs WMU
Good game. Under CTT where would we finish in the MAC? That is a question one needs to answer when deciding his fate.

IMO WMU and OU would simply kick our butts all over the field. Then someone tell me about how damn hard it is to recruit to a non P5 shool? Damn - so many others are able to do it. Why not our $2 million man?

I was reading the Dispatch today and saw Michael Warren from Central Catholic was voted Ohio's Mr.Football. He committed to Toledo... I can't claim to know much about this kid, but how was he not on our radar? According to 247 we did not even really look at the kid. He had offers from Rutgers, Kentucky, BC, BGSU, Iowa, and Iowa State. Seems like the kind of Ohio kid that UC could use.

Is this a trick question? Do you really not know why he wasn't on our radar? lol

As one guy on one of the high school boards posted, "Grades in tenth grade matter, kids."

Both of these teams would crush us. And congrats to Fleck. 13-0 is amazing. Too bad we won't get him.

I agree that each would crush us, and that Fleck did an amazing job. I watched the post-game interview with him, though, and there was a Butch Jones-esque vacuousness about him.

Sideline analyst: "Coach, what kind of adjustments did you make after Ohio closed the gap."
Fleck: 'You just gotta have faith, and keep your oars in the water. Row the boat!"

Most of his answers involved oars, paddles, sculls, and rowing. Then, when he was asked the inevitable, about whether he would coach WMU in their bowl game, he fumbled badly. He should have said something along the line of, "We just won the biggest game in school history. I'm going to enjoy this." Instead, he dodged, stuttered, and referred to something ambiguously nautical. Something makes me feel like he'd get eaten alive at a high profile program.

He's definitely not an Xs and Os guy. He's Butch like in that way.

Was at the game. Blown away that they had 46,000 people there, place was rocking and Ford field probably the nicest stadium I've been in. Both teams went at it, I've really enjoyed MAC football recently, a lot because they're not trying to be what they aren't all the time. I'll take competitive football without pretension anyday over Herbie and the hype.

And there's the BK in him...guess he's a combination of both of our most successful head coaches

RE: OU vs WMU
maybe Fleck was deflecting the reporters question about adjustments....not wanting to say exactly what adjustments were made for future opponents to hear. So instead he offered some hokie rah rah saying.

just a thought

I mean, I don't really care if he is an x/o guy or not...he wins. I heard Jimmy Johnson speak once. He's a jerk but the guy was a winner at every level. He said he wasn't an X/O guy much, that's what you have OC and DC coordinators for....

just throwing that out there.
