I know but it screws everyone's plans, there's a domino effect. They could be 12-0, stub their toe against USMA and and force a major rearranging.

More than likely if Navy was the number 1 choice after CG. You would see an announcement of Navy to the Access Bowl and the other team announced also as the replacement should Navy lose to Army.

Agreed, that is probably what would happen. That is a fair way to do it. It is not reasonable to treat the Army/Navy game as a glorified exhibition. It has to count.

It has to count because it is going to be revenge for 1950.

The CFP announced their policy on this last year: If as of the CCG weekend Navy is in the running for the G5 Access slot, then the G5 Access slot team will not be announced until after the Army/Navy game.

So if Navy is deemed to be in the running, there will not be any provisional or final announcements involving Navy or anyone else until after that game.

Well first, the polls don't count so let's see what the CFP says, and second, Navy needs some help to get the Access bid anyway.
