100% agree. We need to have a few more of what he is laying down.

What areas does he recruit. Florida, I believe. Georgia? Other areas?

He assists in Michigan from time to time but Florida and Georgia are the main areas. Reed has Chicago and I think Indy, Frakes has Cincy, Dayton and Kentucky, Keen has Michigan and NW Ohio, Neathery has Texas, Oklahoma, Peterson I believe has Cleveland, Columbus and Pittsburgh area-not sure what areas Meadows and Nunez will bring to the table. My answers are based on what I see and if I'm wrong I open to clarification. The big big issue is who replaces Grubb recruiting JUCOs he was really really good at that.

RE: 2018 Football Recruiting
Thanks. BTW, I believe some or most coaches recruit Michigan (forgot where I heard that).
It's kind of a way to fairly split the load. It wouldn't be fair for someone to have S.E. Michigan and someone else to have the upper Midwest or some distant land.

Actually according to d zone we offered over 25 Michigan players for 2017 its not that. We do recruit here we aren't successful. Think about it Ms um cmu and emu plus decent div 2 schools

I completely agree.
Recruiting MI is very, very difficult with so many P5, G5 and as '79 indicated strong D-II MI schools in the mix.
And with P.J., it was brutal. He recruited like a B1G coach and CMU has a good history and has always recruited MI well.
GVSU has also historically been able to recruit some G5 caliber recruits who could have gone to EMU or another MAC school.
That's why I've been perfectly happy to have Haygood do his magic down south.
Sounds counter intuitive but we do better in FL and Ga against G5 teams there then we do in MI against MAC G5 schools esp. WMU, CMU, TOL, etc. (those school have a history of success).

Football has become a southern game. If one wants to find an abundance of football players, go south.

Serious case of battered wives syndrome here.
CMU and WMU do just fine getting the leftovers from UM and MSU. But the Broncos and Chips are such big powerful brands, I guess we just can't compete? haha
We're so weak at recruiting, we even have a tough time competing against D2 schools in our own State apparently.
I guess if this is the expectation of our fans, our staff, and our AD, we're right where we deserve to be.
