11am start on a Friday? Against a team that doesn't travel all that well? 50K would be a fantastic crowd. Doubt it though. People gotta work.

What was our attendance for South Florida?

My feeling is that we equal that, so around 36k.

Day after Thanksgiving, no work, not much local competition, football fans are usually not huge into shopping or Black Friday. The Piggies aren't playing 'til 1:30 and they are not having a huge season, so that's all that there is in terms of local competition.

If we had 50k, that would be ridiculously impressive.

the university should have been on this weeks ago. IMO they should have hit every high school within 100 miles and given away tickets to any school that has a football program of any kind.

you never know who might have turned out to be a walk on to our team in the future.

Should be an all excuses on deck type game, relatives in town, out of town for Thanksgiving, in-law get together to eat leftovers, too cold, hunting season, too early, gotta work, black Friday shopping....be lucky to get 25k actually in the stands, the seniors will walk out in front of no one as always.

Hope I am wrong but I doubt it

Absolutely not. This should not be a pie in the sky number. I seem to recall that we came close to 50k in 2003 against a mediocre South Florida team for our Thanksgiving game with another early kickoff.
How often are we on ABC?
How often do we host a top 25 team?
How often do we have a chance for 8 wins in the regular season?
This is a statement game for the team. It should be a statement game for the fans, too.
Have we ever had less than 50k in recent memory when we have hosted a top 25 team? We've always had over 50k against Ole Miss, and had 54k against Louisville a decade ago when they were ranked.

Not sure how many even know Houston is ranked, normally those top 25 games you are talking about are Ole Miss or UT. I would be ecstatic with 35k, not holding my breath though

UM is running (IMO) a great BLACK FRIDAY sale on tickets through EOD Thursday. I just picked up 6 tix at $20 apiece on the EAST side in the new chair backs and we are 6 rows off the field.

Need that east side lower section filled in as that is where the cameras point. I believe they are running some $10 seats as well.
