You don't think we'd try and promote Orlando? I feel like he's been more instrumental to our recent success than Applewhite.

Orlando told the boosters he has no interest in the HC job at UH, that he would rather follow herman and remain a coordinator for a few more years.

Only way i see it changing obviously is if the school that hires herman says no to orlando or herman decides he doesn't want him.

Charlie Strong

For serious?

Why not?

Because he kinda sucks. Good man, but if you cant win with all the resources Texas has in a weak Big12----why would you think he can win at Houston? The reality? Strong had a couple of good years with an experienced NFL quality QB. Outside of those 2 years---he is below .500 as a head coach. Frankly, I think he and Baylor make a good pair---Both need to rehab their images.

Well damn, don't see either of those situations happening. The man can coach a defense!

I like that he was honest about it and honestly i understand why he would follow herman. If herman is pull able to pull off what he did at UH just imagine what he could do at a big school. So I'm sure Orlando sees a sure opportunity at a NC if goes with herman seeing as they already work well together.

He could have gone to his alma mater, Wisconsin. last year and tried for a NC there.

I see Strong getting hired at an F_U type school. In retrospect, FIU jumped the gun on Davis.

Strong has a big name there, and he needs to be in a place for awhile without the intense glare of the reporters.

With that said Houston is a good job and with talent it will draw a good coach.

I agree. The problem for all of us is that we usually have to take a chance on an unproven OC or DC. Fuente. Herman. Norvell. Frost. Montgomery. Etc.

I think the AAC is approaching the point where successful MAC and Belt coaches come into play (dependent on how stable the P5 is from year to year)- we aren't just limited to P5 coordinators

Yeah, that, too. I was talking strictly about P5 coaches, and failed to make that clear.

I agree. While at Louisville he recruited the heck out of Miami. He could be a really good fit any Florida school.

Maybe. He was only making about 1.5 more than Herman at LSU and after this season I think its reasonable to expect him to be on discount. I definitely don't think he'd be an easy sign but it wouldn't hurt to go after him if Herman did leave.

He would be my #1 for sure. I had just heard that he would be getting significant offers from certain schools driving up his price.

I wasn't banned. I created a new screen name when Houston accepted a BE bid. I was still posting under the name I was known for on the old CUSA board (Coog2knight518), and was teasing Bondsjons who was going nuts because ECU hadn't gotten a life vest yet. So, they shut my old one down. That's what they do.

I've also had people say I should get a new one now (ditch BEH) but I haven't felt like it yet. When I do, the same thing will happen to this account.
