People forget that FAU still only starts 4 seniors on the entire team.
From what I've seen 4/14 have picked FAU, and most of the 10 that picked ODU are ODU fans (and I certainly don't think any ODU fans believe we'll win just by showing up on Saturday).
Interestingly, ODU only starts 3 seniors on offense, and 4 on defense. And we only have 3 additional seniors anywhere in the 2-deep.
The passcode to get into the ODU locker room this year was 3133 (score from last years game with FAU that kept us from being bowl eligible). I don't think we'll win by just showing up. I think we'll win by showing up pissed off and ready to exact some revenge.

Just out of curiosity, do the people think that these small motivational devices actually work? I have seen us losing to the same opposition with the same circumstances twice in consecutive years despite claiming all sorts of motivational devices (the 2014 and 2015 losses to Rice a prime example of that)

Depends on the team/players/leadership. For FAU, winning 3 games a year (in 14 & 15) maybe it isn't going to pay any dividends. For an ODU team that feels they let it slip away @ home last year with a bowl birth on the line and has now improved their win total over last season by 2 (with 2 games to play) it could be different.
Regardless, winning conference games on the road is always difficult.

Road games are always tough and I don't mean to put down FAU, but all that figuring out was against the two worst teams in CUSA.
I do think FAUs offense has improved over the past few weeks, but the defense has been miserable.
If ODU doesn't turn the ball over, I think they will score a lot of points (35+). Our defense has been good, but I do think FAU can put some points on the board, I just don't know if FAU can get enough stops to make it a game.
As always, turnovers can be a game changer. And FAU's DE scares me.
I don't think ODU has extra motivation against FAU, but I just think they are a much better team than they were last year. The QB play has been a huge upgrade and another year under the belt from our skill players has helped. Additionally, we returned virtually everyone on defense, which has shown drastic improvement. Luckily, we return almost everything back again next year outside of Pascal/Washington so we have to figure out a QB to play on an otherwise very good roster.

UTSA @ #8 Texas A&M 11:00 AM CT (ESPNU)
MY LINE: TAMU 45-20 I don't see UTSA pulling off the upset.
UTEP @ Rice 11:00 AM CT (ESPN3)
MY LINE: Rice 24-21 UTEP is as bad as Rice.... giving Rice the home edge.
MTSU @ Charlotte 1:00 PM CT (ESPN3)
MY LINE: MTSU 35-20 Charlotte has played spoiler this year but I think MTSU gets this.
Southern Miss @ North Texas 4:30 PM CT (beIN sports)
MY LINE: USM 27-23 USM has been slipping of late but I don't believe in UNT enough give them the nod.
Old Dominion @ FAU 5:00 PM CT
MY LINE: ODU 30 - 20 ODU should be able to get this.
Marshall @ FIU 6:00 PM CT
MY LINE: Marshall 24-21 I think FIU could get this with the way Marshall has been playing but I can't work my head around picking them to do it.
I got no idea anymore...

RE: CUSA Lines in The Sand - Week 12
My Week 12 Picks
.
UTSA @ #8 Texas A&M - A&M was not a top 4 team but still pretty formidable at College Station, Aggies 45 Roadrunners 27
UTEP @ Rice - Rice wins over UTEP for 2 in a row, Owls 31 Miners 24
MTSU @ Charlotte - MTSU gets back in the win column in Charlotte, Blue Raiders 42 Charlotte 28
Southern Miss @ North Texas - USM needs this one bad but so does North Texas, Golden Eagles 35 Mean Green 31
Old Dominion @ FAU - ODU is just too much for FAU so, Monarchs 38 Owls 28
Marshall @ FIU - FIU fades again at the end of the season so Marshall escapes, Thundering Herd 28 Panthers 24

He is predicting that, during football season, VCU is going to beat themselves. I can see that.
