How high does USC jump in the committee poll?
Currently ranked #20 playing as good as anyone in the country not named Alabama and made it to the #20 spot with a 3 loss record and 5 game win streak.
This week USC beat #4 Washington on the road in a very dominating fashion. Also the following things happened:
#17 UNC lost to a bad Duke team.
#16 West Virginia was unimpressive against Texas
#14 Virginia Tech lost to Georgia Tech
#9 Auburn lost to an un-ranked Georgia team
I think USC moves up to #12 in the next poll.

If they're #12, then is A&M #11? I've thought my Aggies were overrated most of the season, so much poor tackling and inconsistent quarterback play, so baffled by the committee's ranking of them.

I am a little disappointed. I thought this was gong to be a new take on the "I say jump. You say, how high" dad-ism.
I don't know if they will make #12. They had an impressive win and some spots opened but I don't think they will jump ahead of more than 1 or 2 of those teams. I'm guessing #15.

AP has them #15, at the top of a 3-loss block of USC, LSU, Florida St, and Auburn.

I don't get the AP poll this year. We were not even ranked in their poll last week.

If you look at USC's resume afresh:
- Alabama loss doesn't hurt USC much at all.
- Loss to #11 Utah isn't a huge detractor.
- Loss at Stanford hurts. Emergence of Darnold at QB a counter-balancing factor?
Quality wins at #7 Washington and against #12 Colorado.
How many other teams have beaten two *current* top-12 teams?
- Ohio St. (#8 Oklahoma, #6 Wisconsin)
- Michigan (#12 Colorado, #9 Penn St., #6 Wisconsin)
That's all I can find.

USC is exactly why it should be humans, not computers.
A computer can't be programmed to realize that USC is a different team with the young QB that is playing great.
Doesn't mean you can erase their losses ... no.

boy not good news for the Big 12. Tough to say Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, or WVU has any shot.
And really tough to see right now Ohio St left out if they win last 2 games. They're #2 and adding a win over #3 Michigan. Kind of tough to see that falling 3 slots.

RE: How high does USC jump in the committee poll?
Question is, if Penn St and Ohio St both win out and Penn St wins the Big Ten CCG over a top 10 Wisconsin, do both Penn St and Ohio St get in?
Or what if Wisconsin wins last two games easily, then beats Penn St in Big Ten CCG, with Ohio St winning out. Do both Ohio St and Wisconsin get in?

To be honest Houston's more deserving than all of them. The AAC is significantly undervalued this year for no good reason and the Massey composite proves it. Unfortunately it's going to take the bowl season to prove it. The funny thing is that is when the same biased media types will acknowledge that fact. The fortunate thing however is that just like last season the AAC is poised to be even better next season
