I think it's as simple as being afraid of a mistake. Huff has fumbled a few times in his career

Possible, but I think there is something odd going on between Carey and Huff.

Maybe kind of like whatever odd thing went on between Harnish & Kill when Kill refused to start Harnish and played...forgot who that kid was. Had zero business playing QB.

Not even a valid comparison, in my opinion.

Harnish was coming off an injury riddled freshman season where he threw more interceptions than TD's and was barely over a 50% completion percentage. BTW, the other guy was DeMarcus Grady.

In this case, Huff has proven time and time again that he is the better overall runner compared to JB. JB is a sturdy, reliable back but Huff is explosive and can get to the 2nd level of any defense with ease compared to JB.

You skipped a year. Harnish was coming off of his sophomore season and had like 19 games under his belt. The injury was likely a factor and Kill started Harnish in week 2 so it's a much different situation. I think Grady was like 4-0 as starting QB going into the 2010 season too.

Grady had an awesome camp too if people have forgotten. There were some on this board that wanted him to start that first game. He just was never as good in a game as he was in practice. Coach got to see this and changed week 2. So different from the rb situation now
