CMU Game
We won??? I was unable to watch the game as I have no access to CBSSN. I just looked at the score and what a surprise! To go on the road and beat a team who beat OKST earlier in the year is beam of light in a dark season to this point. I'll take it. Go Flashes! PS- I love Nick Holley :)

I saw it. We made a few mistakes. They made more and we had a good defensive and generally good special teams play. The offense and Holley gutted this one out as they scored the final 17 points for a come from behind win. Today no one quit

RE: CMU Game
There was 6 or 7 blocked field goals/punts between both teams and just as many turnovers. The game was pretty sloppy but for once we ended up not shooting ourselves in the foot.

RE: CMU Game
This team oddly has enough to compete in the MAC this year we just have let ourselves down a few too many times. We have been in every game we played except Alabama (I forgive the team for that one). This is not a KSU team from the 80s or 90s where we are outmatched at almost every game.

If Kent had an average offense, nothing spectacular just average, they would be sitting at 7-2 and undefeated in the MAC. I will let that settle in...

RE: CMU Game
Once the Holleys graduate, Kent football will be as dismal as ever. This pattern has always been true with Kent. They have a brief period of success thanks to a Cribbs or Edelman or Archer. But then those players are gone and it's back to Stinksville.

That's the saddest part about this team. They've got virtually no shot at bowl eligibility but they could very easily be undefeated in the MAC. I think that's why KSU football is so frustrating, the talent is there the results are not.

RE: CMU Game
As a CMU fan, that was one of the most disappointing losses I have ever seen. We played as poorly as I have seen in the past 3 years and were tied 10-10 at half. Go up 24-10 and completely throw the game away. 2/3 INTs bounched off receivers hands, our O-line is pathetic, and our kicker cannot do anything right. Idk how the hell we beat Ok St.
congrats on the win though. you guys have a pretty solid defense.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT --- KSU has defensively held three MAC teams to two touchdowns, and two more to three. Only one MAC team has scored 30 points against Kent.
Just saying.

Inferior teams play poorly. They throw int's. They drop balls. They have poor special teams. More to the point, they are erratic and inconsistent. These two teams could play 10 times and there wouldn't be much separating them, just like all the teams in the MAC East. If the MAC East replayed the season, the standings might be reversed, the teams are that close.
I was simply stating my thoughts, relax. I'm not over here saying we would have won or we would win. We went up by 2 TDs and should have put the game away considering your offense wasn't doing a whole lot and hasn't done a ton this year. But you capitalized on our mistakes. Congrats on the win.
Our 3-0 was because we were healthy and firing on all cylinders. Injuries shouldn't be an excuse for how poorly we are playing as of late.
Reading comprehension is key.

Nice attempt at condescension. It just didn't fly. Everyone has injuries and excuses. Results tell the truth. No need to come over here to be defensive about your loss with explanations. We saw the game.
With all due respect to EVERY MAC TEAM ... injuries are always an issue after September, it's just a matter of who and where (offense or defense) for most teams vs. strengths and weakness of the teams they are playing, also with injuries ... it's the MAC

Yeah - don't come over here spewing excuses - you'll never out-excuse us! We got excuses for everything here. We've probably heard them all since Haynes started - and (excluding Hazel, who got lucky) - we heard them all from the coach before that, Martin. And with the coach before him, Dean Pees (who wasn't actually a Dean of anything at this school), we heard them all twice.
We're at the point where, if we lose, we don't need no excuses.
The coaches here got it arranged with the press corps. After a loss, they just have to give the numbers. "We had a 4 this week, and a 7, and 2 6s. Number 18 had a 3 as well. Are we done?"
So what was CMU's excuses again? They had a 7 and a 5.

You're right, who writes on message boards? In fact, why is anyone on here?
Get a life dude. You've been on this site for 14 years apparently and still try the whole sarcastic/condescending approach. I already have an image in my head of what you look like. Fat, bald, and miserable.

To be fair, that kind of describes most of our football fan base. Especially the miserable part.
