Calling the shots. However you want to term it. Tommy got told to stuff his plans. The LOGICAL CONCLUSION would be that Cal wanted the big-booster money to be exclusively used on BB.

Never gets old. GET EM' TOMMY!!!!!!

Sour grapes. And maybe TW should have...nevermind.

I thought I was the only one who thought Tommy looked like a fool.

Just a guy losing a big paycheck

The Cal "running the athletic dept" crowd morphed into the "been a done deal for 18 months" crowd

I have never claimed "done deal for xx months." So I don't know what you are talking about with that. But anyone who doesn't know that Cal got what he wanted at the expense of all other sports is ignorant.

You're way off base and I'll leave it at that. Cal was just better at his job than Tommy or Rip. He was better than Larry and Tic too

The smoking gun is the donations before and after Cal

You got your head buried in the sand and have tin foil on the roof of you believe otherwise

Tommy stopped recruiting. Actually, it can be argued Tommy was never much of a recruiter to begin with and the people responsible for his success were actually Randy Fichtner and Rip Scherer.

Main coach responsible for DW.

Offense was never the same after he left either.

I think if Fichtner never leaves, then we hit 7-5 seasons at worst every year, corral some good local mid south kids like we were doing with Darron White and Darren Garcia, etc...and never fall so badly...the stories in the end about TW and his staff and their recruiting are honestly just sad.

The thing didn't have to go south on them.

So Rip was a recruiter? I thought his not being able to recruit was the whole basis behind the facilities excuse?

Nothing about the fact that Rip was about as interesting as a door knob both personally and offensively

Rip got the job because he had a printed overview/brochure of what he would do for the program.

Fast forward to the brochure for the BE.

Long story short - RC was a big fan of presentations.

rip was hired in 1995

rc was hired in 1996

It's not his fault. He gets all his info from a 6-4 295 twisted steal lawyuh

Here are RC's hires , well let's just say the ones that were made when he was AD

Football: West, Porter

Hoops : Tic, Cal and Opie

I'd say given that he was 2-2-1 in hires

2 good : Cal, West
2 bad : Tic, Porter

I give Opie a tie because he was a good hire at the time IMO
