Navy certainly could have beat FSU and OU. FSU was hungover from not getting in the playoffs and wasn't going to get up for a G5. OU is a mediocre team with a trash defense that always drops its first game.

SMU is an indefensible and hilarious loss and couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

Ha. And now you're saying everyone UH played was overrated (including) UH except for Navy and SMU?

Sometimes you need to stop and think about what you're typing for a few minutes before hitting the post reply button, or maybe you should just stick to posting "UH sucks" type posts, because at least those make it clear you're happy UH lost like any opposing fan would be, instead of inventing retarded reasons for why "UH sucks."

He is a troll what do expect.

The same guy who told the world Sam Bradford wasn't going to be traded eight hours before it happened? That Sam Allbright?

CTH may well wind up at UT, but I'm going to need a lot more than this guy's word.

No doubt, but there's a world of difference between saying he's gone at the end of the season and it"s "all but official".

Not unusual. Same exact thing happened at Memphis last year with Fuente.

RE: This Coog fan knows this music being played...
There's no easy way for a sitting coach to depart his current school for the new one waving more money, privilege, conference affiliation, etc. at him.

As Triple A noted, MEMPHIS saw this unfold last year. Undefeated through the Tulane game on Halloween then BAM!! The team found out about Fuente deep in negotiations with VT and the malaise and distrust set in.

Frustrating in the extreme; the TIGERS had a team for the ages and it fell apart due to Fuente failing to honor the commitment he demanded of his players. Plus, many assistants began working on flipping recruits. I can almost assure you that is happening now at UH.

The hard truth is all G5 coaches are TEMPORARY. If Norvell does a good job this year and next, he could be approached about a P5 job. It's the nature of the beast. It sucks.

I think the game against UCF will be a tough one due to the mental outlook of the Cougar team. On paper, UH should win quite easily. But it's going to be a very competitive game.

O lort. You're crawfishing now. You realize the only loss that would support your claim UH is overrated is SMU. I don't know why you include Navy in your "UH is over rated" argument because the only way that loss would support your claim is if Navy sucked, but yet you admit that they are good (and they are).

The SMU loss fits in the same bizarre category as our loss to UConn last year, and well I dunno, maybe you forgot already what UH did after losing to UConn last year.

Hehe, so it's quite obvious you have no clue what is a good team, bad team, overrated team, you just want to throw shade our way. I'll say it again, you would at least "sound" better just posting "UH sucks" and leave it at that because when you try to talk "football", you come off like the 2007 Miss Teen USA South Carolina contestant - mind bendingly clueless, but fun to listen to nevertheless.

(google the miss teen south carolina reference if you're lost)

FIFY. For instance, Rice's head coach, David Bailiff, has been at Rice 10 years. If he was a good coach, someone better would have hired (or even interviewed) him by now. But good coaches like Briles, Sumlin and Herman have or will have left UH for better jobs. As long as the athletic dept doesn't get complacent and always expects success (see UH's quick hook of Tony Levine after a few barely above .500 years) the overall program will be fine. UH is better off for having Herman and they'll be back in the hunt for the NY6 bowl next year. That said, Herman is making the right move for his career - it's not fair, but without being in a P5, a school's national championship hopes are incredibly minute, which will always be a goal of any good coach. Tilman Fertitta did an interview saying that they won't lose Herman for "economic reasons" and I actually believe that. But at some point, the money can only feed these guys' egos so much and they need to be at a place where their national championship hopes aren't on life support after a single loss.

Les Miles would be a better option. Good track record, is too old to be moving up the ladder in coaching, and Houston is a big LSU town and he'd have a leg up in recruiting. Just don't let him hire Cam Cameron.

Thank you for predicting that. With your track record the opposite will happen, so Tubbs is gone.
