Yes I think we have had this conversation before. We beat some teams some years and lose to them the next. These kids are focused on the future.

We offered him on Saturday after his team played in the state championship at Zable, so I'm pretty sure he is strongly considering us, and is taking this visit as a follow up to receiving that offer.

I'm hoping those other teams keep holding out and he accepts our offer.

Va. Preps All-Sate Class 3 team is out. First team QB is Greg Cuffey... second team is Kevin Jarrell.

Scholarship offers are not binding until a player signs, and PWO offers are not binding until a player enrolls. Certainly not the same. I can recall very few PWOs who committed prior to signing day.

A moot point with regard to Jarrell, however. After watching his film I'm amazed his only other offer is UVA-Wise. Decent mechanics... very athletic and appears to be very strong. Reminds me of Knight from UNH. QB rushing and passing for 1500 yds. is extremely rare.

Two new QBs should go very nicely with the five that we already have. :o)

Getting one-two QBs a year is great no matter how many are on the roster currently. This would ideally allow for them to redshirt/develop and not be forced to play fresh out of high school since older more developed players are ahead of them at the position.

I think Jarrell has the potential to be a great fit at WM and play for us as an upperclassman once the current crop move out. As SF mentioned he reminds me of Knight/some QBs we have seen come through our system in years past with the ability to make plays in the air and on the ground.

Cuffey was recruited as a DB if I'm not mistaken, but as mentioned prior on this thread his 4.4 speed is a treasure at our level and so it should be interesting to see when/where he is utilized on the field. He has WR experience so I wonder if we see him on Special Teams or in certain packages for a jet sweep etc..

Nope. If the reason or reasons are not public, they cannot be discussed here. Thr fact that he didn't sign with us indicates he or our program did not want to commit at this time.
