FOCUS. Nick Saban, on hearing him on a radio interview, said today's college game is more and more about controlling the flow and momentum of the game. He said you can't relax at all and allow the other team to get control. He does seem to be the master of this coaching philosophy -- it was on full display yesterday in Knoxville, and that Alabama team was flat focused all day long.

I am just perplexed. I do not know if we are just too young and need more aging and recruiting. Of is there a coaching problem? Hopefully people with more knowledge about football can provide some insight. I just want the team to improve and play with intensity.

RE: Official Game Thread: Furman
Well sports fans I have to call em like I see em. This team has no doubt regressed each of the last 4 weeks. Changes occur because of personnel and coaching. If the Bucs would not have won those first two games if it was simply talent. The fact is, the same core group of winning players have been out on that field every week. The problem is they have not progressed. For what ever reason, it appears the coaches are sticking with the same players that produced in week one and two. I get it - they produced; but I also can read the box scores and stats. He who rushed, covered, tackled, passed and caught in weeks one and two, have disappeared in weeks 3-6 (4 games). This is a FACT - read the numbers. It's the same at every level from pop warner to the pros - coaches tend to stick with the same players because they know what they are CAPABLE of; hence, they are blind to the current production rates. Capability and Production - two different elements. Coaches, please don't wait until the last game to take a solid look at your depth. If you do, you will no doubt suffer the ill affects of the transfer syndrome. Question - does anyone realize the coaches changed out the receivers and then ran the ball? They didn't change linemen, they changed skill, then went back to the starters in a passing situation... On offence we have scored 21 points in 4 games and given up 160! My god coach, read the production rates or change your GP. On defense... it all fell apart. Soft coverage, no pass rush, and missed tackles about sums it up. I know the team is having a hard time with #28 being kicked off, but get these coaches better get them under control real quick because this type of spit can spread a cancer quicker than a wild fire. So in summary - I'd say the coaching has to accept a lot of the blame.

With politics on display in the NFL, plus spreading to other levels, please don't tell us politics has infiltrated this team. Players are kicked off teams all the time -- but these are strange times. Just hope the coaches get this team focused. From what I saw of the VMI game, they were not hustling, busting it, focused. That would be a coaching issue.
