Heading into Dallas Friday night for the Bengals v. Cowboys game on Sunday. Looking to get some great Texas Style BBQ. Where should I be going?

The Texas state fair is going on isn't it since it's OU-Texas week? Idk about BBQ but I'm sure there's all kinds of fried everything there. Makes me want to go to the Tulsa State Fair this week. Maybe after Tulsa stomps SMU I could stop by.

USA Today: Texas trades in dignity with signal to Herman
From USA Today

Texas trades in dignity with signal to Herman

http://usat.ly/2dCpYVt

It’s all out in the open now, what Texas is doing to undermine football coach Charlie Strong and send out a whistle 165 miles east to Houston. With LSU coming open, murmurs of discord at Southern Cal and Oregon and an unofficial bidding war already under way for Tom Herman, the Longhorns are going Longhorn.Again.What Texas did this weekend, leaking the notion to both ESPN and Sports Illustrated that Strong would not be fired during the season amid a turbulent 2-2 start, is as brazen as it gets for an athletic department whose shamelessness has never before known any boundaries.Let’s get one thing straight: It is not a serious message about Strong’s job security. It doesn’t take a genius — or an anonymous source — to understand that another 6-6 type of season will prompt Texas to seriously consider making a change.

Not anymore. Since they shut down the old Bell's Amusement park next to the fairgrounds Vinny the Carney had to move out. (He used to live under the Zingo behind the haunted house). People got the good stuff from him. You had to stand by the Scrambler and blink three times while whistling a sailor's shanty before he'd talk to you though. I'm not good at whistling.

Lockhart Smokehouse or Pecan Lodge since Hutchins is too far away.

Pecan Lodge is my favorite in Dallas. If you want a good steak go to Bob's Steak and Chop House. Mexican try Mi Cocina (near SMU campus) or if you happen to venture to Fort Worth try Joe T Garcia's.

Lockhart is great. I liked Pecan Lodge too, but I'm not sure if it was worth the hype. I also have been to 18th & Vine, which is a bit different, but I thought really good too.

I've been to others, but not sure if they require mentioning.

Nothing else comes close.

Pecan lodge. Not really close.

And please don't take the bait on Joe T's - that place is nice on a great day to sit outside but the food has been terrible for years.
