Worst crop of linebackers in school history. These guys are SWAC safeties playing linebacker.

I don't think so....

would be very surprised if it doesn't still come down to Tech and S. miss in the West and Middle/Western/Marshall in the East

just not as dominate as last year

That was a must win for us, glad we pulled this one out. I don't know what Coach Wilson did over the bye week, but let's hope he repeats it again against Rice.

Total faceplant. This Jeckyl and Hyde defense is killing us. We are too prone to slip-ups, especially early.

3 of 9 third down conversions. But you don't need to convert third downs when you have four plays over 70 yards each and 4 between 20 and 30.

Total yards
USM 546
UTSA 532

UTSA had 320 yards on four plays.
And 95 on four others. So 415 yards on eight plays.

Agree with your prediction, but this is fun for ODU to be in first place and ahead of WKU.

Lucky we have UTSA at home this year. That will be a big one. Gotta get past WKU first though, they are tough too.

In the fashion we beat UTSA, it should be interesting to see what happens this year when we face USM at home.

Hey ODUsmitty......you missed the rest of my quote. Especially the part where I said it's embarrassing and inexcusable to lose to a S-hole startup football program like ODU that couldn't beat 5th grade teams in the state of Texas. It's a miracle that both ODU and Northwestern State pulled off in 2014. At least you are in good company. 05-stirthepot

That's cute, HogDawg. Just remember that it cannot be a rivalry unless both sides have won. I could not care less about SCLSU and the Muddogs. If you are fortunate, one day the schedules will allow for a rematch, which possibly you might win. When that happens, we'll have a rivalry. Until then, you will just be considered another mouthy fan from yet mouthy entitled southern fan base that has never beaten us on the gridiron. Suck on that, Fido.

Wow, really? I didn't watch/follow the game and your post is the first inkling that USM lost to UTSA.

Amazed.

RE: Week 6.....USM at UTSA discussion
Playing on the road is tough. Don't matter who you are. Not like I came up with that on my own. It's why I laugh when people on these boards tell another fanbase "you should win that easy, they suck" when you're playing a percieved lower team on the road.

Other than Bammer and maybe Ohio State and Meesheegan there's a ton of parity in FBS football right now. It's why Appy State can go into Knoxville and push them to the limit and then UT is 5-0 and a top 10 team. (5-1 now but...)

It's why I enjoyed last year's team so much. I knew it was a special year and we had the ability to pull some out on the road and hold serve at home.

You go into someone else's house just remember that their coaching staff has worked their butts off that week going into the game. They're not gonna roll over just because you're the percieved higher ranked team. You try telling your kids they need to sweat the percieved lower ranked team and sometimes it falls on deaf ears.

And momentum is a b!tch. That starts rolling and then you see slumped shoulders and bad body language like some of you have been talking about in this thread.

Tough loss for USM. Very nice win by UTSA. Looks like your new head coach got y'all energized. At least in this game.

momentum is a biatch.......it's still amazes me that we defer to kick first on the road.....that's about the dumbest thing a team that starts slow can do....

not that I ever had any (confidence in our coaching staff - I'm on record saying they can only fk this team up), but not taking the ball first on the road is a major fundamental flaw....
