NIU should actively seek someone who wants to be here then. Consider the scholarship offer available again and if someone else takes it then goodbye Mr. Rowell.

That would work at Alabama or Ohio St. I don't think any G5 has the luxury to be that proud, especially when the reverse of this happens from time to time too. I don't particularly like it ,but I think it is the reality of the recruitment game.

I was about to use the exact same analogy. Not sure what "committed" means anymore.

I bet if you were a 2 star dude who committed to a 2 star lady, and then suddenly a 4 star lady wanted you, youd re-open your commitment options.

Not necessarily. The difference between a 2-star lady and a 4-star lady is subjective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps a 2-star lady would be 4-star in your eyes. And I say this as a 0.25 star dude.

If we could only get rivals on board with this. It could revolutionize the dating world.

RE: Uggg Here We Go...Rowell Re-opens his Recruiting
I'm always surprised when people are still 'surprised' this happens. It's been happening for decades folks, this isn't a new thing. And it will certainly happen more when you suck and a coach is on the hot seat. Until the NCAA makes some changes to the signing dates/timelines, it's going to happen. You have kids committing when they're 16-17 years old in the Spring of their junior year. So much growth/lack of growth, changes in coaching, changes in life plans, etc, is going to happen.

You're right, the commitment means nothing, but we've always known this.

I don't blame him for reopening.. 4 years is a long time if the coach gets fired 1. before you get here 2. after your freshman year 3. after your sophomore year....

There is no such thing as a VERBAL commitment anymore. Since it is not binding it is worthless.

If Babers and Co end up beating ND today wouldn't be shocked if Kelly was the next to get fired

Serves that scumbag right. If there were any justice in the world, he would already be in jail.
