Looking for recommendations on where to go to pick up a new ring setting using existing diamonds for an anniversary present for my wife. We're using the diamonds from her mom's wedding ring.

I really have little budget (single income with an almost 2 year old at home).

I went to Jared's recently (around the corner from my work) and after telling him our needs, he began showing me a ring that would need an extra diamond added for the center and showed a diamond at ~$1k, ring at $800, and after all pricing ~$2,100. Definitely out of my range and defeats the purpose of using her mom's diamonds (both a cost thing and an heirloom thing).

Any help would be appreciated. I even looked some online, but without really knowing the specs on the diamonds we have it's hard to search for options.

Dennis LeClear. He is a super nice guy who works with antique and heirloom jewelry. His rates are so low as to be ridiculous, but he has been in business a long time.

One-man store, but he will buzz you in with an appointment or phone call.
