Ideal scenario:

Yordon calls Sean, Sean calls Rod, Sean calls Coach U as new interim coach.

Not sure of Coach U at this point since the offensive play calling has been a problem. I know Carey took the blame for the bad 4th down and other critical calls but he might just be doing the stand up thing.

Forget it, people. As much as you whine and wish, Carey is not getting fired during the season. Check out Frazier's comments in the Trib's game story from today.
It's not gonna happen.

I agree and haven't really been a fan of midseason firings anyway. Maybe it would help this team light a fire but doubt it happens. My point is more toward Coach U being able to suddenly jump start the team.

At this point it probably doesn't matter in season but a move has to be made in the off season.

I wouldn't be opposed to Tuke. He is a fun personality and kids liked playing for him. May be tough for him to get big recruits because he has a bit of a mid level resume, but seems to "get it" about building a program, then again I don't know how good his record is a SEMO

FIU can't fire their head coach. They're a small program with no money. Not possible.

Its worse to fire a coach at the end of the season. You have more competition for coaches and then you have to recruit players last second due to decommitments and deal with a lost recruiting class.

I just looked up his program. They were 0-3 and won their first game of the season last night by one point. Not sure he's the answer either.

Can him now. If Frazier is as tight as he says he is with the Football team, he'll know who to put in as Interim. Somebody that these kids will play for. Its not the Rod.

How many years was he under contract for and what did his buy out cost FIU?

Any school that thought Ron Turner would be a good hire deserves what they got. Same with any school thinking of giving Charlie Weis another head coaching job.

Don't be so sure about STF. Who was it exactly that extended Carey's contract? Wasn't it our associate VP & AD?

At the time it seemed like Carey picked up where Doeren left off. We had just won the MAC etc and many assumed Carey would be hired away soon after. It was just as much a business decision so whoever hired him would have to pay us whatever was left on the contract. It looks bad now but didn't seem as bad back then.
