Sounds like they will be able to make up for their mistakes and get back on the team in short order. Hopefully anything they did is not too serious.

Here is to hoping that by announcing the suspension early before the season it'll seem longer and they will only miss the first few games (if they dedicate themselves to fixing their mistakes).

It seems like a while ago.

Per the DNR both were found guilty of DWIs. For Holmes it looks like he was charged for an open container in the Summer and the DWI (refusal to take a breathalyzer occurred in Harrisonburg recently). His court date isn't until the end of October. Snowden's offense was in late May in Virginia Beach and was just found guilty on 9-15.

My guess is that Snowden rejoins the team first and in time for the first game and Holmes' suspension goes into the season. He also has 2 strikes.

In fairness both were charged and found guilty of offenses. I think Brady would have suspended them as well. You always felt that Brady didn't do enough but that was for alleged drinking etc. that didn't involve being found guilty of a crime. I think Rowe had to do something here when he did it and any coach would have done the same.

When 3 different recruiting classes have players blatantly showing up to practice drunk on multiple occasion, and it continues going on until it leads to losing two of your best players... yea you didn't do enough early enough.

That sucks. They were both likely starters to open the season according to Rowe at the Richmond coaches caravan

Both guys are going to have to miss a game or two to make this count (or perhaps up to 5 games in a worst case scenario), but hopefully they'll learn a lesson and move on. That's going to really hurt Snowden, as the opener is at ODU. Snowden seems like a solid guy....don't know enough about Holmes to comment. In any event, the team needs both players to have a successful season.
