My honest opinion!!
Here is what I think of the last two game last year and the first three games this year.
Last year we were starting a quarterback who was never recruited out of highschool. With that any other school would not do well in that situation. Think of when we played Bowling Green without their starter????
As far as the first three games. Yes I think the coaching is a big problem asking with mental breakdowns. But Wyoming was a tough with the delay, time change, and altitude. With south Florida and the Aztecs both teams will be ranked in top 25 at the end of the year. Gurantee that.
So yes it sucks but hey let's win the Mac and continue to build the program.

+1. No way we're getting past Toledo, WMU, and CMU with our QB situation, D, and punter.

RE: My honest opinion!!
He has a point. Elevation at Wyo is real (now you believe me). Defensively you guys are the Fastest team we have seen and will probably be the fasted D we play, no joke.
Rhythm needs to get established on your O. Talent is there and yes coaching plays into just how fast or sustainable momentum gets established.
On another note, those Refs were horrible, both ways. We thought the Pac 12 (well known to be horrific) were bad, that crew has them beat!
Great fans, solid team and you will turn it around (we lost 3 in a row last year) as there is too much talent on your team not to be in the MAC race.
Best of luck!!

Punting has been bad since last year. NIU had sound special teams for so many years that it is easy to see the drop off now. The San Diego State punter won Mountain West Special Team Player of the Week and the difference was apparent. I feel this current NIU team lacks that attention to detail which were a staple of many prior teams. NIU was good at bridging the talent gap with strong fundamentals (tackling, special teams, disciplined play, etc.). That focus on the small things appears to be sorely lacking thus far.

I'm Not drinking the kool aid at all. I'm just looking at it from a non hoomer niu perspective. You name one team that can win with a freshman walk on qb? You name one Mac team that has defeated two top 25 caliber teams this year? Yeah you can't so stop complaining. Also Western Michigan beating Illinois and northwestern is a joke this year. We will see who is right at the end of the year

Good points all around. Plenty of talent on this Huskie Roster but the details are killing them right now. Lots of potential.

And I send that in my opening comment. I think this team will turn it around and be in Detroit again.

We lost to Wyoming, NIU has no room to talk about the teams WMU has defeated. I'd rather be 3-0 with their schedule than 0-3 with our schedule. They dominated Illinois and we've been dominated by all of our opponents. I think we would lose to Illinois and Northwestern.
