RE: New QB Depth Chart
I haven't been impressed or optimistic about a single QB recruit/transfer over the last several years and nothing has changed. Maddie was thrown over to WR three weeks ago because he wouldn't see the field otherwise and suddenly he's going to be splitting time with Graham at QB. Graham did an admirable job filling in last year but he's limited in what he can do at an even average level. I hope someone proves me wrong but this program is in for a world of hurt with our current QB situation for the next 2-4 years.

And if that is true, and most likely our best case scenario this season is to try and win the Mac west again, why not start Santacanterina and let him cut his teeth these first two home games before conference play starts? Keep Graham as a decent backup, which I think most of us can agree is his ceiling. This way we can build for next season as well with Santacanterina playing this year

I don't think Carey is thinking that way. He's probably thinking about his job security and not about the next coach who will come in after. But I agree, its time to look your future and develop one of our young scholarship players.

Maybe Santa just not as talented as Graham.

How is an 0 - 2 start to the season time to start looking at your future? NIU hasn't even played a down yet this year at Huskie Stadium and conference play is still two weeks out. It's a senior heavy team and you have two QBs in Graham and Maddie with game experience. Unless Cam Newton is sitting on your bench it is way too early to flush the season.

You must be a pastor, because no one should be that optimistic.

Senior heavy team where?

22 seniors, largest senior class since Carey. It's the home opener against a stout opponent. These guys deserve better from our fan base and supporters. If you hit November and the wheels are still off it will be obvious what needs to happen. Until then just enjoy Huskie football.

I have been going to Huskie games since 1983 and not once did I even considering booing my team. I taught my kids at the games while they were growing up you don't boo the visiting team. I was going to ignore this, but decided to just say it; if that is your plan we don't want or need you at Huskie stadium! I may not be speaking for all here but I would be shocked if very many disagreed!

Heck, I'll boo the visiting team, when they first get onto the field. They're the enemy for the next 3+ hours. It's not a matter of disrespect with me though, it's all in good fun, and I don't boo after that.

I don't have a problem with those that do that when it is in good fun. I have a major problem with a "fan" coming to the game with the plan of booing his own team!

Yea, I don't know why you'd bother going to the game just to boo.

Almost all of my boos are directed towards the refs. I like to boo opposing coaches too sometimes I must admit.03-woohoo

Never boo your own team ...that is terrible. Brown paper bag over the head is completely acceptable though...and amusing.

Booing your own school? That would be ridiculous. Hope you aren't sitting close to me.

Don't boo your own team? Yes, let's keep supporting a bad coach and team. Let's not voice our disappointment so they can keep it going next year and not fix it.

That really applies to professional sports. A pro team can get new players and coaches and they're paid a lot of money to do their job. These are kids who are having trouble on the field. I'll boo Carey and the staff, but not a bunch of 2 star kids struggling at the moment.

The staff knows their bad and need changes. Your boos don't impact that.

If you really think the team/coach/AD/fans don't know that they suck right now, you're crazy. You actually think booing will help the situation? Give me a break.

I'll boo you as a fan and a terrible fan/alumni a that.

While I personally wouldn't boo the Huskies, given the attendance woes as long as they buy a ticket and show up feel free to boo, moo, or a cok-a-doodle-doo. Just show up.

+1. There are quite a few better ways to protest or try to make a difference.

But none as easy and effective apparently
