I guess the question now is who's the #2 QB and does Maddie move back to QB. Anybody know yet?

Probably will be a 3 way competition, each getting 1.33 quarters of play.
Santacaterina seems like the new #2 unless someone has seen something I haven't. He was warming up as Graham warmed up at USF. He was just getting loose but I assume he stays the #2. Not sure after that.
What about Childers, the transfer from Memphis?

He was the scout team player of the week for USF

Carey said in the afternoon presser that Maddie and Graham will be splitting time as the QB. Maddie will be pulling double-duty as QB and WR.

That tells me he doesn't have confidence in the other guys really. Knows he will have to have a QB that can run so he will go with Maddie in those sets and Graham for most of the others.

Maddie has not played a snap as a WR and probably wont he is a good option as the number two qb. he was moved as he was a number 3 qb and a fifth year sr they wanted to try to get a few snaps for him this year
Have they no faith in Santacanterina or Childers? What kind of message does this send? They have under-recruited the QB position for years. Yes they saw a couple of kids bolt right before signing day but they never replaced them. They have Rodney Hall coming but it may be too little too late.

Santa and Childers are young. End of discussion. They don't have the talent Harnish had, so you let them learn the system before throwing them into it.

Last I remember Harnish was thrown into an opening game with Minnesota on the road as a very young player, may have been a RS Freshman. Not the best example.

+1000. Huskie line up isn't the 27' Yankees. Have to develop the young ones.

Yeah, I said these guys AREN'T harnish. So they won't play the first snap like he did.

Wow, I wouldn't have guessed that. Unless they're mostly using Graham, ala Harnish, and bringing Maddie in to spell him , ala Lynch, for the occasional run.
This debacle will be fun to watch live.

Does anybody think Carey said that for some Tom Foolery.
Question for the guys who may know more info than most, is it safe to say that Santacanterina's ceiling is higher then Ryan Graham's? And if that is true, and most likely our best case scenario this season is to try and win the Mac west again, why not start Santacanterina and let him cut his teeth these first two home games before conference play starts? Keep Graham as a decent backup, which I think most of us can agree is his ceiling. This way we can build for next season as well with Santacanterina playing this year
